    Could Pedroia lead-off? He has the OBP and speed, why not? Maybe try it once as an experiment

    I agree, it's pretty obvious the Sox rotation know Varitek more and are way more comfortable pitching to him. I don't care if he hits .150, pitching is way more valuable right now.

    He seems to of lost confidence in his hitting or something, walking like Manny did with the White Sox last year. Walks are always good but I agree, he needs to try to hit more.

    I have to hand it to Maddon, he's a smart manager. No matter how bad 8th inning Price is, it's not nearly as bad as anyone in the bullpen

    Well Francona needs to step the hell up and bench Scutaro. How many in the league even have an OPS as high as Lowrie?

    This lineup is odd but I think Francona realizes we don't need that many runs tonight with Lester pitching. Not nearly as many as with Dice-K yesterday.

    No doubt. Pedro is the greatest of all time, Dice-K is a failure that wouldn't even be doing good in Japan right now. Hell, I'm sure 50 year old Pedro would be better then 30 year old Dice-K.

    Anyone else noticing the good performance by Wakefield? Two perfect innings and a strikeout. Even if it doesn't matter right now, this is against some great players.
