He had a long term contract with Liverpool and a written transfer request was rejected by the owners. This was not a case of the owners forcing him out of the door due to his high wages.
What we do know is that Torres has been acting like a spoiled child on the pitch this season has has not shown any signs of being a world class player. So the fact we were able to get ?50 million (~$81 million) for him is a great victory to Henry and NESV.
Kenny Dalglish is known as 'The King' with Liverpool fans. He was one of the greatest ever players for the club and commands the greatest respect from the players.
In terms of his long term future I'm unsure. He has a contract til May. Depends on results. liverpool is far from fixed right now. But we are going in the right direction.
What we can say is that all Liverpool fans are happy that we have John Henry and NESV associated with our club
