  1. 4-1 Rays in the bottom of the 3rd.
  2. I'm going to be shocked if Gonzo doesn't leave the yard today.
  3. Plus we save money by not washing his jersey because he never gets it dirty.
  4. This team would be ridiculous if we had Beltran.
  5. Francona cleaning his glasses saying "did I just really see that!?!?"
  6. When you're going good, you're going good!!
  7. Damn that ball is carrying outrageously.
  8. Geez Wakefield is getting torched.
  9. Crawford's leg is still way farther out than it was last year.
  10. Yeah, I'm ok with that. If Navarro gets some AB's and can hit .290-.300, I can take the below average defense. But if we're going to get a .250-.260 hitter, I'd rather have the defense with a little less offense.
  11. According to Cots, he's still got 3 arbitration years left.
  12. I'll say it now. We got Marco Scutaro hitting .258 in the MLB right now and his defense has not made up for the lack of offense. We got Jose Iglesias playing in AAA right now hitting .227, but his defense is beyond brilliant. If this team goes out and gets Carlos Beltran, they need to call up Iglesias, hide his bat in that line up, and let him play defense and save some runs. Look at how many runs Pedroia saves every single game. Wouldn't you rather have that plus some at SS, even if it did mean you had a SS who was hitting .230? For the record, Chili Davis, the hitting coach in Pawtucket, has said that Iglesias is making big improvements on his swing, which is why I'm saying .230. I would much rather have a defensive wizard at SS that hit .230 than a borderline defensive liability at SS that hits .258. Getting Beltran enables this line up to hide Iggy's bat, and improves this team significantly on the defensive side.
  13. He's an outstanding piece to our bullpen. He does what Wakefield used to do, except he does it effectively. Not to mention that when we get blasted for 7 runs in the first 2 innings, this is an offense that can easily come back, and a guy like Aceves can come in and stop the bleeding and give us a chance to come back. Look at the game vs TB when DiceK got lit up. Wakefield comes in and gives up 5 ER in 3.1 IP. We got smashed, but if Aceves keeps us in the game there, the momentum shifts a little bit and gives us a shot to win.
  14. Couldn't stay up for the long haul last night, but I did wake up at like 1:30 central time last night to see that Pap was pitching with 2 outs, 2 strikes on Brignac, and we were up 1-0. I gotta say, I am shocked that TB didn't use the momentum from the inning they kept us from scoring after loading the bases with no outs and walk off in the bottom of that frame. Regardless, a win is a win, now we get Baltimore. Thank God we are facing Brad Bergesen and we have Carl Crawford back. Lets hope Wakefield has his knuckler fluttering and he can go deep into the game.
  15. Well. We don't deserve to win this f***ing game. That's beyond pathetic.
  16. How about a freaking bases loaded walk right here.
  17. This is absolutely pathetic.
  18. Why don't they ever show the take down??
  19. Dear God, Joe. We've got work in the morning.
  20. Finally that old lady in her clubbing glitter shirt has shut up. You're too old to wear your daughters clothes, lady.
  21. 1-2-3 DP would make me bring this house down.
  22. For the record, I'm glad this worked out, but I'm about to ring Francona's neck. I cannot believe we did not bunt there. That's unfathomable.
