  1. WMB is about to smoke one. He's a FB hitter. This guy throws straight FB.
  2. That was just pure s*** luck. Reynolds hits an 18 hopper for a double down the LF line. Aviles hits a frozen rope line drive and it gets caught.
  3. Disagree. Was this a mediocre team last year? Again, this is a complete reaction to stats being manipulated by a small sample size. Our SP aren't going to have a 5.50 ERA all season. We're going to have more starters with ERA's in the 3's than in the 5's. The numbers look bad, and the team isn't performing right now. But this SP rotation is a hell of a lot better right now than it was last year with Lackey/Miller/Wakefield in the back end, and nobody would have said that was a bad team. Sure, the bullpen was significantly better last season than this year, but give DiceK a chance to come back, stick Bard back in the bullpen, Bailey will be back, and then the bullpen becomes a lot better than it is now.
  4. Way to do a job Rich Hill.
  5. Oof. I'm fine with that play by Gonzo, but he may have needed to just go to 1st that time. Bit of a lapse in judgement.
  6. I think this time off is a blessing in disguise. Think about it. The first part of the season, when the team historically struggles, and the only stats and standings you see are the current ones rather than the cumulative ones like you'll see in August, thats the time where the team is under insane scrutiny in every single move of every single game. It calms down a lot by June, July, August time frame when you go 2-6 on a road trip but you look up at the standings and you're still 54-46, not 3-10. Thats what Crawford is missing this year, which is a very good thing for him coming off of last season. Also - Think about the times in your own life when you've struggled with something. Then you had a chance to get away from it, think about it a little bit, get more comfortable with it and understand what happened. You can make the adjustments needed to be better. Whereas when you're in the middle of it, you kind of "can't see the forest for the trees" because you're too close. Getting away from the team, figuring things out, I think that's going to pay massive dividends this year.
  7. Wow. BobbyV says DiceK ready after 2 more starts. His next start is scheduled for Monday. Which would put his following start around Friday, and he could be in Boston by Wednesday, 5/16.
  8. Aaron Cook is the type of guy who can get through an inning in about 3 minutes. That game tomorrow, I put the time under 3 hours.
  9. That's why I said "An offensive powerhouse" not "A powerhouse"
  10. Gonzo is hitting the ball well. This is a very good sign.
  11. So that ball that landed fair by 1/4th of an inch, and then spun up against the wall and the spin made it jet past Ross was a result of what? That's just pisspoor luck. That's all that is. That ground ball that Aviles hit up the middle that Chen tapped and changed directions right to Andino, that was because of what? Some breaks you make. Not all of them.
  12. Come on man. This is not a .500 team. I'm reactionary, but that's crazy.
  13. I cannot believe the absolute s*** luck this team is getting. If they hit that ball and Lester tapped it, it would have split Pedey and Gonzo and the runner on 1st would have been on 3rd. Instead? Right to the 2nd baseman. Of course.
  14. This team actually cannot catch a single break. This is a joke.
  15. I'm absolutely sick of this f***ing team. And the horseshit breaks that every other team gets. It's unbelievable.
  16. Way to get both of em in!!!
  17. Boy we have some hackers between Ross and Shoppach.
