  1. And you know what else this trade is about?? Getting younger and moving toward the future. Having a solid mixture of high talent, high energy youth (Middlebrooks, Kalish, Nava) with high talent veterans (Pedroia, Gonzalez, Ross, Ellsbury, Crawford). That's how you become a championship caliber team.
  2. This trade was NOT about getting equal value. This trade was about getting this team in a position to gain some consistency and be able to put the best team on the field every single night. It was about not having to juggle Gonzalez, Middlebrooks, and Youkilis every single night. And do you think that maybe, just maybe, now that there is some consistency in the lineup, Gonzalez can start to hit like we know he can?? Because maybe we should consider that when trying to figure out what kind of a return the Sox got with Youkilis.
  3. Haha. Of course.
  4. So you would rather eat more money and get less in return to send him to an NL team?? Come on man. Have some faith in your own ball club. The Sox have WMB at 3B, are getting last years AL MVP of position players in Ellsbury AND Carl Crawford back at the ASB, Beckett back in a matter of days. They have Franklin Morales who has really come in and been a stud, and if he sticks, he's a well above average 5th man in the rotation. Gonzo is starting to get it going. Pedroia is clearly getting hot. We get Cody Ross back who knocks the piss out of LHP. Like I said - Have some faith in your own guys. If they can't make the PS because of 1 game, it's not going to be because of Youkilis. It's going to be because they couldn't hold a lead in the 9th or the 11th against the Tigers, or because they couldn't hold a 9 run lead against the Yankees, or it'll be because they gave up a 9th inning, go ahead HR to Sean Rodriguiz.
  5. This doesn't sound familiar....
  6. I've actually always thought Lillibridge is an underrated player. I know his numbers don't necessarily back it up, and the fact that Baseball Reference mentions his 2nd position as a "Pinch Runner" isn't exactly exciting, but I think he's a better player than his numbers show. Don't know anything about Zack Stewart other than Peter Gammons tweeting that the White Sox thought they got an absolute steal in him when they traded Edwin Jackson.
  7. BTR made the GT yesterday, and we won, so he makes it today.
  8. Gotta think they're going to try their hardest to keep him at SS for as long as possible. I remember people were saying both HanRam and A-Rod was going to outgrow SS as well. If we can get Bogaerts to stick at SS with WMB at 3B, Pedroia at 2B, and Gonzo at 1B, that could be a ridiculous IF.
  9. Lester's FIP is 3.52. I'd be furious in frustration if I were him.
  10. I don't even know why they came to the game.
  11. I would be frustrated if the Sox were going up against Halladay and got shut down like that. But f***ing Jurrjens?!?! Thats the kind of s*** that makes you want to break s***.
  12. That's the absolute most frustrating game I've seen this year. Unacceptable for the Sox to let Jurrjens pitch that way. That's f***ing infuriating.
  13. I'd say this is the most frustrating game of the season.
  14. These are the games when you need guys like Ellsbury and Crawford to be at the top of the order, get an XBH or two, steal some bags, and MANUFACTURE some runs.
  15. Well. I'm officially ready to throw my computer through my tv.
  16. I saw it wrong. he was at 80 through 6. Still. This is unacceptable. 1 f***ing hit.
  17. Good. Now get in there and swing the f***ing sticks.
  18. This is easily the most embarrassing showing this offense has made this year. An absolute f***ing embarrassment.
  19. Jurrjens is at f***ing 57 pitches through 6 innings. That's f***ing unacceptable. Absolutely f***ing pathetic. Infuriating.
  20. Bleeder - Jam shot, 1st and 3rd. Typical.
  21. He never said there was anything bad between the players. It's more management and FO.
  22. Not really. He's saying the Sox have multiple offers at this point and are just waiting to pull the trigger on one. It's a good update, lets you know how far along the trade talks are.
  23. Boy Jurrjens is living middle-middle in this AB. He's lucky Ross hasn't lost one.
  24. Buster is probably the most well connected baseball reporter out there.
