  1. Well. We're going to need the sticks tonight. Otherwise it's a long night of studying
  2. His defense is much, much better than he's shown.
  3. Wow. Nothing going Doubront's way. Even balls that he jams hitters with get through.
  4. This guy has absolutely nothing. Zero. Zip. Get him the f*** out of this game while we still have a chance.
  5. ???? A ringing single, a 304 foot HR, and a misplayed ball. I mean I understand the E on WMB, but how is anything else sloppy??
  6. Well yeah. That kind of s*** happens when you've got a guy hovering over the plate and an umpire who won't call a strike on a corner.
  7. Apparently there is no such thing as the corners tonight.
  8. Konerko is hitting .342/.417/.563 Dunn has 23 HR. They've got some mashers.
  9. Gotta wonder - if Bogaerts continues to OPS over .850 and hits 12-15 HR by late July, do you promote him to Portland?
  10. Can't be any worse than the constant trade rumors.
  11. Strange, isn't it, how this team almost always starts to play good baseball on Mothers Day weekend? Since Friday, 5/11, the Red Sox are 26-15 (.634 W%, 103 win pace over 51 games). If they continue to play at this pace (which, really doesn't seem like it's been all that great to be honest, considering they had a 2-9 streak right smack in the middle of the 51 game stretch), but if they continue to play at this pace, they will win 95 games this year. Boy. Thank God they won that Cubs game on June 16th. Otherwise the season would be over.
  12. They already picked up Ross with $3mm. So they now have $4-5mm available from the two trades.
  13. This doesn't make sense either. Chicago's decision to/not to exercise his option doesn't affect the fact that the Red Sox were on the hook for at least $1mm next season, which they will not have to pay now. If you look at it from the vantage point that the savings will be decided based on the White Sox decision, then you could argue that the Red Sox would save $14mm total if they exercise his $13mm option.
  14. Give me Lillibridge, Stewart, and $2mm and send him to the White Sox over no players, no money, and sending him to an NL team.
  15. If he doesn't stick at 3B, they'll stick in him a corner OF.
  16. Sally League destroys power, too. So his numbers are just eye popping. HanRam as a 19 year old in SALLY League: .275/.327/.403, 8 HR, 111 Games. Josh Hamilton as a 19 year old in SALLY League: .302/.348/.476, 13 HR, 96 Games Xander Bogaerts as a 19 year old in SALLY League: .295/.375/.500, 11 HR, 70 Games. EDIT: s*** - Sorry guys. Hamilton and HanRam didn't play in the Carolina league. I got the SALLY and Carolina league confused. My bad. Disregard. For what it's worth, though, HanRam didn't make it to A+ ball before he was 20. When he did, he was 20, and had a .793 OPS.
