    My son made a travel baseball team (u8) and I was named asst. Coach. That has been taking up a lot of time but I look forward to seeing what the sox will do in the off season. We watched 4 days in October on netflix last night and seeing what happened in 2004 Never gets old

    Just heard an interesting stat. Nick Swisher now holds the major league record for the lowest batting average with RISP in Mlb playoff history(min 25 ab's) (Joe Girardi and Bill Buckner are right behind him)

    Maybe the Yanks will want Iglesias. His sub .200 average would fit right in with the rest of the team if the playoffs are any indicator.

    As my 7 year old son and i got ready to watch the game i told him how this was a great day because this was the last time we would ever have to watch dice-k pitch. His reponse-"what about Lackey?"

    well not really but how many more times is Lavarnway going to hit a weak ground ball or pop up off the handle? Add both their averages together and they are barely at .300

    Can't be - if he was he wouldn't be loafing around moving in slow-motion half the time.

    the mendoza line is a sub .200 average- maybe we will the iglesias line at sub .100 what a downer -the Sox two big prospects Lavarnway and Iglesias both can't hit.

    Hope i'm wrong but after watching Lavarnway last couple weeks maybe he's not the prospect some of us thought he was. I thought he could hit but struggled on defense-what happened?

    Keep in mind that next year there will be interleague play all year because each league will have an odd number of teams. The new rules could signal the end of the full-time DH type. Ortiz/Gomez 1b/dh look ok offensively but then you would think you would need a defensive type backup . If the Sox don't think they can contend next year i think Ortiz should be out and Gomez should be given a shot with maybe an Overbay type to back up. A writer suggested Middlebrooks at first , iglesias at ss and Boegarts at 3B.

    True- but Jeter has a tape of Shepard introducing him before his at-bats instead of the regular PA announcer.

    Derek Jeter skipped Bob shepards funeral and got a pass from the media. I'm starting to believe Lucchino is partially right.

    This is a sore subject around here. As someone who loves the Red Sox and hates soccer there is a feeling(warranted or not) that when they bought Liverpool they stopped paying enough attention to the Sox
