  1. Hi Gebhoy, google UEFA financial fair play and have a read, this will put us way ahead of Chelsea and Man City financially. Man United are crippled by their debt. A new stadium and continued commercial development by Ian Ayre and we'll carry on making more and more money.
  2. Hey See Red, I'll try and explain the league structure etc for you. Liverpool play in the Premier League, sometimes called the EPL in the USA. The EPL has 20 teams, everybody plays everybody twice (home and away), 39 games in total. You get 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the title. The three teams with the lowest number of points are relegated to the division below (called The Championship) and three teams are promoted from the Championship to the EPL. Below the EPL there are 3 professional divisions with 24 teams each, all have promotion and relegation. Below that there are dozens of divisions of semi professional teams. Teams in the EPL have the chance to qualify for one of two European competitions to play against teams from France, Germany, Spain etc. The top 4 teams in the EPL qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The team finishing 5th qualify for the Europa League. The two european competitions begin with a group stage, each team is drawn into a group of 4, each team is played twice, home and away. The top 2 teams from each group qualify for the knockout stages. Before the final the knockout stages consist of several rounds where 2 teams are drawn against each other, they play twice (home and away) and the winner over the 2 games goes through to the next round. The final is one game played at a neutral stadium somewhere in europe, it changes every year. There are also 2 domestic competitions, The Carling Cup and The FA Cup. These consist of knockout games, every team in England qualifies. The teams in the EPL don't play from the start, they join later on when the number of teams has been reduced a little bit. The final is a one off game at Wembely, the national stadium. If the winners of the domestic cups finish in the top 5 in the EPL, the teams finishing 5th and 7th qualify for the Europa League instead. Does that make sense?! Could you explain the baseball season? I don't get it!
