Sort of makes you wonder why the boardconsidered NESV as the more appropriate bidder. He runs Man Utd themed bars indeed. You have to question the depth of his knowledge of the English Premier League, and its tribalism! This guy doesnt appear to have any experience with sports management and I suspect that he may not be prepared/able to offer the long term talent development that NESV are willing to bring to the club. Everyone is talking about big numbers on this purchase, but I doubt that this new guy is willing to offer THAT much more or Martin Broughton would have been OBLIGATED to consider a substantially higher bid. My gut instinct is to stick with NESV as they've stated development goals for the Club, and have an apparent willingness to engage/work with, the fan base. Remember: Money doesnt equal commitment - Citehs previous billionaire demonstrated that....... Could all be a bit of a smokescreen however. We must all keep digging in case he has any connections with H&G! I wouldnt put it past Hicks to double bum us!

Virgil- Couldnt agree with you more. A lot of the genuine fans have taken the time to research NESV deveolpment philosophy and approach. I'm into my 5th decade as a supporter of LFC. My only desire is for them to be given time to put appropriate development/investment in place. Some people expect an overnight fix, and it isnt going to happen. These SoS lot will then start agitating again, aggravating not only the new owners, but also LFC supporters. I have already written to NESV requesting supporter engagement, but stressing the importance of speaking with balanced, forward looking supporters rather that the self appointed, self absorbed, and self important busibodies that are SoS.

By the way - its these Spirit of Shankly lot who like to arrange the burning of the Stars n Stripes for the TV - be aware of them! They have been warned on quite a few posts over here about repeating such behaviour outside the High Court in London next week

Look at the recent surveys you mutton heads! 90% of LFC fans polled SUPPORT a takeover from NESV and would welcome them regardless of whether they are American or not. Sox Fans - The burning of the Stars and Stripes is unforgivable. Unfortunately we have a few mentally challenged people here in Liverpool who have difficulty separating the individual/s from the Nation. Unfortunate, but hey every Country must have them. A lot of our guys have fought alongside their American brothers in Iraq and Afghanistan, quite a few, some from Liverpool, have paid the ultimate price, so when most of us here see the American flag being burnt by the morons it also causes us embarassment and outrage. Regardless of the negativity of some people it looks like there are more in favour of Liverpool becoming a part of NESV, and I hope we can become firm friends and partners. I've been to Fenway and was made most welcome, "DIDNT KNOW YOU LIMEYS LIKED BASEBALL, COME FOR A BEER AFTER THE GAME". One day I hope to reciprocate.......:thumbsup:
