I must say that im surprised by the news that a man such as Henry, seemingly astute and with an admirable business acumen would be interested in investing in a dying football club.
When it comes to Liverpool FC, they will always be up against it, the supporters simply wont fully accept anyone that.....
A) Doesnt have a bottomless pit of cash for player signings
Hasnt been involved at Anfield for years
They're a fickle bunch Liverpool fans, they lost on Sunday against Blackpool and the chorus of boos at the end was disgraceful, considering the new coach Roy Hodgson has only had something like 7 league games thus far
Let me tell you something about their relationship with Hicks and Gillet......
Proclaimed them the men to bring the glory days back to the club, these two owners forked out untold millions for....Javier Mascherano, Fernando Torres, Albert Rieria, Glen Johnson, Alberto Aquilani, and are now bankrolling Joe Coles astounding weekly wage
They chose to respect the fans wishes and not get rid of Rafa Benitez earlier despite the fact that in 5 years he had turned them from European Champions to complete jokers and spent an absolute fortune on very average players like Skrtel and Kuyt
Liverpool FC are simply a spent force, and the demands of their absolute lowlife supporters to compete with Chelsea, Manchester City and scum will be a huge burden on The Red Sox and you will suddenly begin to see holes developing in New Englands investment balance sheet
Red Sox fans you should be worried, they wont care for the future of your club one little bit and will turn on this man the minute he doesnt bend to their demands
This will of course be aided by the numerous ex Liverpool players dotted throughout the British National Media, they are trotted out when it times to take a pop at whoever has bent their nose out of shape this week
For example......Heysel, European Cup Final v Juventus, 39 dead Juventus fans due to a wall in the stadium collapsing because of the rioting of Liverpool fans (Liverpool FC still to this day refuse to apologise for this)
The reports in the media blamed it on West Ham, Millwall, Chelsea and Leeds United fans running rampage, not a huge surprise considering the media is almost entirely made up of former Liverpool players
Leeds United for example had up until the mid-late 90s a severe hooligan problem, and the media cant do enough to put the boot into that club, when things are going bad they never miss a chance, vile, scum yada yada
Liverpool fans were solely responsible for the deaths of those 39 Juve fans and its UEFA's fault for chosing to stage the game at an old stadium (One that had passed health and safety checks tough)
My fear for you guys is that in an era that has seen the rebirth of The Red Sox as a major baseballing force, you are about to have the rug swept from under your feet by Liverpool fans deluding themselves that they will be able to keep up with Billionaire owners at Chelsea and Manchester City because they have a wealthy new owner
Their time as a footballing force has came and gone, and if your owner has any sense he will leave them to stay there
