  1. The great man is an iconic legend.
  2. Redguard I feel like crying, those were the days mate. Bill Shankly is the messiah, whenever, I am at Anfield, I always touch his statue, it so sureal, you feel his presence inside the stadium.
  3. I always loved Kevin Keegan, I still remember his rant at Ferguson on the radio. He is a great personality but we need to win some silverware. Its going to take a good 2 seasons really for Liverpool to claw back to the top. I can't see Torres staying next season, unless we start winning and the club has stability. I am also not sure about Gerrard, Mourinho really would like him at Real Madrid, I think he will stay at Anfield as he is a scouser. At the moment with LIverpool, things changing by the hour. I thought (if things were 'normal', we should have been 5-6th end of 2010-2011 season and aim for Champions league and have a top 4 spot in 2011-2012. At present, its unrealistic.
  4. Yes Hiddink would be great choice. I don't mind Martin O' Neil either. I don't want Klinsmann either, after he was associated with the two muppets ( another phrase we use) behind Benetiz back. Another name Marco Van Basten is a remote possibility. The Utrecht match was torturous to watch, it was like watching paint dry. As fans, we stick with our manager for the time being.
  5. SlasherB Not sure what is happening at the moment, as Hicks is taking this sale to the high court. Its not over yet. Its like a long running soap opera. I never wanted Roy Hodgson in the first place. He is a good and decent man personality wise but he doesn't have that tactical planning acumen and he is not a great motivator for the players, if you get my drift. Personally I wanted Kenny Dalglish and he wanted to come back but the board were not having it. Some Reds wanted Mourinho but now thats unlikely, I heard Martin O' Neil (former manager for Aston Villa and Celtic ) name is being mentioned and Guss Hiddink. I don't know who else is available who is a high calibre Manager for LFC. who do you think should the next Manager ? The derby result wiil give some indication of where we are going.
  6. According to the papers, until Christmas
  7. Well done, you are catching on. Did they show all the matches on mainstream TV or did you have to go via sports channel ? IN the Uk and Europe, its prime time tv, the tv stations have to reschule progammes if it goes into extra time
  8. From what Broughton was indicating, I don't think Hicks has a chance to win the case. It may delay the sale process with NESV
  9. We soccer fools are still here mate.
  10. Thank you very much Virgil. WE are just trying get a good understanding of who our owners are and learn more about your team as well. I am sure we will be following your team's progress during the baseball season. There are alot of parallels with both clubs. I do have a coffee Red Sox mug in my cabinet, courtesy of trip to Boston a couple of years ago. YNWA
  11. Hoping that the new ownership will be fruitful for the Red Sox and Liverpool. Maybe, The Boston Red Sox team can do an exhibition match in the near future in the UK. Many of us would be thrilled. Cheers !
  12. To DonegalRedSox I am a lifelong Liverpool fan for the past 35 years, to say we are xenophobic against Americans and we are hooligans is quite disappointing and insulting. Not all of us are communist, flag burning eejits. I think your view is very short-sighted and narrow-minded. Like most normal like-minded Liverpool fans, we have great respect for our opposing teams. This was only reflected last week when Blackpool fans were wandering around Liverpool city shaking hands with Liverpool fans who actually applauded them after the match at Anfield. With regards to the hooligan element, we were not the only club in Europe who were plagued with a hooligan element in the 1980s, you should go to Celtic V Rangers, a Lazio V Roma match, Ajax V Feyernood, Barcelona V Real Madrid, Fenerbahce v Galatasaray, Boca Juniors v River Plate then you will see they also had their fair share of problems. Anyway, all the clubs in Europe have made a concerted effort to stamp out hooliganism and racism, so what you're sayin is old news anyway We are family orientated club, if you ever got a chance to go to Anfield and see the legendary electric atmosphere legendary, then you only would understand our devotion and passion for our club. Soccer is watched all over the world. Liverpool FC is one of the few clubs that have a global collective fan base reaching as far as Asia, Australia, Japan, the Middle East and Africa and believe it or not even in Afghanistan and Iraq. We are fighting for the very heart and soul of our family. We are a people’s club not a franchise, We have protested through peaceful means by sit in protest and rallies and various email campaigns to make our point. If your beloved Red Sox club was in our situation I am sure you would not be sitting there twiddling your thumbs. I haven’t come here to pick fight with anyone but I just want to clarify our stance. I just want to thank most of the broad-minded Red Sox fans for reassuring us of our concerns. All I am saying is that Sport events are supposed to bring people from different nations together in times of difficult international political climates. It would be great, we all respected each other and agreeing to disagree on certain issues.
  13. Vermin Are you dyslexic ?
