  1. I never once referred to Hillsborough (a tragic accident and horrific crowd control). I was referring to more recent incidents.
  2. I was just doing the big 4, but I guess Liverpool are not part of that now and I should have included Spurs or Villa.
  3. Liverpool appologized for both incidents that were reported. You can't deny that either of them happened regardless of what newspaper reported it.
  4. That has everyting to do with sporting culture in the United States and nothing to do with a lack of passion.
  5. SlasherB- was it the owners or was it Rafa? Liverpool spent a ton of money on players: Liverpool total net spend 2004-09: ?122m loss Manchester United total net spend 2004-2009: ?27m loss Chelsea total net spend 2004-09: ?186m loss Arsenal Net spend 2004-09: ?27m profit Not sure why the blame goes on the owner except for the fact that (like Glazer) they used borrowed money to buy the club and plunged it into debt. The failures on the field seem to be Rafa's fault while the failures off the field seem to be on G & H.
  6. That's right, Liverool are a bunch of angels: "The reputation of Liverpool fans took another pummelling last night when it was revealed that the ambulance taking Alan Smith to hospital had come under attack outside Anfield. Supporters surrounded the vehicle while throwing missiles and shouting "Munich scum" in reference to the plane crash that killed 23 people, including eight Manchester United players, in 1958. Bottles, beer glasses and stones were hurled as the ambulance became stuck in heavy traffic after Saturday's FA Cup tie. Witnesses also claim the ambulance was rocked as some Liverpool followers tried to overturn it. A spokesman for the Merseyside ambulance trust confirmed the attack and condemned the people responsible." Another incident: "Liverpool have apologised to Manchester United for the behaviour of their fans during last month's highly-charged FA Cup tie at Anfield. The club and Merseyside Police have carried out an investigation after a number of incidents where United fans at the Anfield Road end were attacked by home supporters. There was one incident of human excrement being thrown towards United supporters as well as coins and food being aimed in their direction. "
  7. Liverpool fans make Oakland Raiders and Philly fans look like angels. Liverpool fans went so far as to even attack an ambulance of an opposing player as it took him to a hospital after he broke his leg (and the fans in the stadium sung a song cheering the leg break). I don't think American businessmen have any clue what they are getting into when they buy a soccer club. They formula for success is differnet than American sports and as soon as the Liverpool supporters realize that they are not like the Man City owners willing to throw hundereds of millions of dollars at bringing players in, they will turn on them.
