  1. Learn to read: I'm a Red Sox fan, too. You really are doing a fine job in showing Red Sox fans what a bunch of arrogant so and so's Liverpool fans are. The day my baseball team links up with your runt of a football club will be a sad day for the city of Boston. This will end in tears.
  2. You've made 12 posts on the site and now you are telling the moderators what to do! This is typical Liverpool supporter arrogance. Back on to the debate. How can we be sure there is enough funding to go around for the Red Sox and Liverpool? We are still in a world wide recession and it will take the best part of a $billion to get Liverpool challenging again.
  3. ...and by the way I'm a Red Sox and Aston Villa supporter from Ireland before anyone labels me as a Manchester fan again!
  4. I have to disagree. How do you know this for sure?
  5. And there we have the charm of Liverpool supporters. Classless club and supporters. (And obsessed with Malcolm Galzier?) The impact on the Red Sox will not be good.
  6. Listen, my friend, you seem to be confusing "facts" with opinions. We could look back into history and observe my favorite English club's fortunes. Aston Villa CREATED the world's favourite game - league football. Tey were Englands NUMBER ONE, MOST SUCCESSFUL club for trophies won for EIGHT DECADES! What happened to them? In the 1950's and 1960's they were saddled with a series of awful owners that nearly wiped the club from business. They were relegated to Division Two ad then Divison Three. Now, unlike Liverpool, Villa's fans took this on the chin. They did not issue death threats, they did not insult a nation and burn flags. With class, pride and dignity they got their act together rebuilt and got the club moving up again to become CHAMPIONS Of EUROPE only twelve years after being in Division Three! Listen, "Slasher" (and your name tells us all we need to know about your football club), Liverpool and its fans have behaved with a total lack of class in this whole matter. They seem to think they are above the rules of competition and laws of the game. Of course, the club has some good fans, but as a body, they are militant, arrogant and represent everything that is rotten in socccer. Burning the US Flag takes the biscuit. Sorry, pal. Liverpool are basket case of a club. It's fans have been responsible for some of the lowest points in European soccer history. The day the Red Sox are bailin' such anti-American psycopaths out will be a cold day in hell!
  7. @Liverpool How utterly predictable. I'm a Red Sox fan. I also follow Aston Villa - a club proud of it's American connection - not that it has anything to do with anything... Believe you me, as a Sox fan I would be totally outraged if we were to be connected in anyway to Liverpool football club. I urge any Sox fans to look at the anti-American hatred that this club has been spurting out over the past few years. If the Sox were to kook up with Liverpool it would totally destabilize our progress this past decade. We would be signing ourselves up to bailing out a sports club, deep in cancer, looking for a quick fix. Liverpool's suppoters have been harrassing their current owners for two years now, because things haven't been going their way. If Henry offers no quick fix do we want them to plague him, too? No. As I say, Liverpool are a club with many, many problems - if we bail them out those problems will simply spread over to us. No offence "Liverpool", but the Sox are a genuinely legendary sporting institution built on fair play. Your club has a history of hysteria, violence, arrogance and anti-American xenophobia. The Sox should steer WELL clear.
  8. Hi All I'm an Irish Red Sox fan (who happens to follow UK soccer, too.) I am fairly well versed in what's going on over the water in Britain with regards to Liverpool. I have great fears about this move on many levels and fear a buyout of a UK soccer team could seriously undermine the Sox. To make a successful soccer club would take upwards of a billion dollars...this is money that we need in Boston. I have grave misgivings about this move on so many levels and feel questions need to be asked: 1) How do Red Sox fans feel about our legendary American institution propping up a sports club whose fans have been known to burn the stars and stripes? 2) How do Red Sox fans feel about our legendary institution propping up a soccer club whose fans were responsible for European football's most horrific act of hooliganism? This is the knd of link we don't need. 3) Liverpool's football club are in freefall. Possibly they are on the brink of becoming a casuality of the world's finanacial crisis. Cancer has set in there and cancer spreads. I do not want the Red Sox putting themselves in a position whereby the cancer spreads to us and our great institution. We spent a long time getting ourselves fixed - getting into bed with a xenophobic, anti-American basket case of a sports club would be utter madness. Bailing out Liverpool would be like signing up Mike Tyson and OJ Simpson for our next PR campaign. Utter madness.
