    Sources tell Wallace Matthews of ESPNNewYork.com that the Yankees are expected to offer Derek Jeter a three-year contract in the range of $45-60 million. "The Yankees are going to overpay him," said a source with intimate knowledge of the talks told Matthews. "The question is, how much are they going to overpay him?" If we're going solely on production, quite a lot at this point. But with a player like Jeter, his value in New York goes beyond statistics. According to two sources, no other team has shown interest in Jeter or called the shortstop's agent, an indication that it's a foregone conclusion a deal will eventually be worked out.

    Pretty sure Peyton and tom and drew will still be better then most of them if they are still playing and i can see most of them still playing unless they get a bad injury,but its a coin flip between sam and joe

    Blue Jays acquired C Miguel Olivo from the Rockies for a player to be named later. What a surprise. FOXSports.com's Tracy Ringolsby said Wednesday that the Rockies declined Olivo's option for 2011, making him a free agent. That report was apparently incorrect. The veteran catcher will head up to Toronto, where he should split time with youngster J.P Arencibia for at least the first half of the 2011 season. Arencibia is poised to take over by late July.

    A source told Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News that the Yankees aren't expected to pursue either Carl Crawford or Jayson Werth this offseason. "We are better with Crawford, but at that price?" a team source said. "I'm not sure it's that good of an upgrade." The Yankees already have Curtis Grandson, Brett Gardner and Nick Swisher under team control for next season, so they will likely focus their efforts on upgrading their starting rotation. Of course, we can never say never with the Yankees.
