  1. That's right around what would be expected. No problem with that deal at all. That makes the trade worth giving up the top prospects.
  2. How about let them battle it out in spring training. Lowrie would be more flexible off the bench because he plays all infield positions. He should at least get the opportunity to compete for the starting spot though.
  3. The Jays and Brewers I believe have been talking trade involving Ryan Braun. That may be what he is talking about. You're right about Nady's fielding. Not all that great. Was talking more about what his bat could bring. Let's keep Youk from Left field as well. The one game last season was enough. No more nightmares needed.
  4. Kearns or Ordonez are interesting. The Guy on that list that is really intriguing is Nady. If he can get back to pre injury form. Nady could be a steal.
  5. This deal has to already be set and waiting till the beginning of the season. 6 years 150 is doable. Pretty much expected. The Sox have to be waiting to announce until after spring training due to luxury tax. They are not going to give up the top prospects and then lose this guy after one season. Not over one freaking year of contract time. Nothing would surprise me though. Not after today's circus act.
  6. Apparently Gonzalez is coming to Boston without an extension. Just reported on Comcast Sports Sunday. Tweeted by Heyman.
  7. Nothing but speculation right now from the Media. Nothing concrete. Lets wait for an official report before we blow up completely. This deal could still get done.
  8. Than by all means go do so. Believe me nobody cares.
  9. Don't have a problem with Kalish playing left this season. The problem comes in 2012. There is absolutely nothing free agent wise. We will be losing Drew and Cameron. We need to go after Crawford in a big way. It really sounds like the Gonzalez deal is over. His flight leaves pretty soon.
  10. Thats what I Figured. Nobody else was offering over Five. So I figured the Nats at least offered six. Seven was a no brainer for Werth.
  11. If the Nationals sign Werth. That would just put a stamp on a horrible day thus far. Hopefully this AGon thing picks back up. If not I hope Beltre is on the Phone.
  12. After all this time of Salivating over Gonzalez. You'd think an extension would not be that hard. If they give himEight years he'll be 36 at the end of the contract. Do the dang deal.
  13. Just got home. This is great news. This is a reasonable trade. Figured on Kelly and Rizzo. No problem with Fuentes being the third guy. Gonzalez alone makes this lineup much stronger. Youk to Third. Theo didn't have to give up Kalish which is huge. He should be in line now to take over for Drew in 2012.
  14. Hopefully this AGon deal finally gets done and over with. Would Rather send Anderson over Rizzo. Landing a proven guy like Gonzalez is worth it. Adding Bell would not hurt my feelings. Yes you haggle over more prospects. We pulled it off pretty well to real in Beckett and Lowell not to many years ago. I doubt that happens now that Paps has been tendered a contract. Certainly hope Kalish is not involved with this at all.
  15. Don't have a problem with the Dunn idea at first. Doubt it happens though. My first choice would be a trade for Upton. That is also highly unlikely, but not impossible. Most likely case. We sign Werth and bring back Beltre. If not Beltre than possibly Derek Lee for a couple years. Would also Like the Agon trade. If that trade doesn't happen this year it won't happen at all. By now the Sox and Padres know what it will take to make a deal. Finally lets get this bullpen fixed Theo!
  16. If the sox could land Upton that would be huge. I would send Kelly in a heartbeat. The other players involved cold be tricky. Kelly, Ellsbury, and Anderson would be a pretty good deal. Throw in a middle reliever type Like possibly Pimental or Weiland. What becomes a problem is Arizona is looking for MLB ready guys right now. If I where to guess. Upton will probably be playing in Arizona in 2011. Doubt Towers will get the deal he wants.
  17. He pitched pretty well in 2008. Then Had Tommy John surgery in 2009. Typical Theo signing.
  18. Good luck to Farrell. Normally I'd hope he does well. But since he is going to the Jays. I hope he fails miserably. He went as far as he could go with this Pitching Staff. These guys need another voice in there head. This could be a good change. Depending on the replacement of course.
  19. Lavernway will probably be a backup Catcher/DH. He is still young and started catching late so I wouldn't rule out growing into a starting Catcher role.
  20. Comcast Bottom Line states that the Sox have resumed talks with the Padres about Gonzalez. This is the deal I could see finally happening. Will cost a ton though.
  21. What exactly makes you think that the Yankees will not be in the running? The Yankees are always in the running. I do believe that you're exactly right about losing leverage. Right now the sox are low balling his offers. Two years was a slap in the face to Martinez. He will hit the open market. I don't think the Sox will resign him. Someone else will go over the top and overpay.
  22. Nothing surprises me. I thought that eventually we would resign Jason Bay last season. That didn't happen obviously. I certainly had no idea that John Lackey was on the radar. That deal came from absolutely nowhere to get done. So do I think that resigning Martinez is a lock. Absolutely not.
