    5/19 Detroit Good: Beckett with a solid outing. He was lucky somewhat with a few hard hit ball finding fielders. Somehow allowed 1 run in a frame where he allowed several bullets. Ortiz crushed a mistake pitch (hanging slider) over the bullpen. Bad: Tek/Bard. I blame the combo for that s***. Why do you play around late in games? If you throw 98, throw it. Ugly: Weather still suck.

    Might as well try something else. Okajima wasn't coming in close games anyway. He last threw over a week ago. We've play tight games in that stretch.

    despite blowing the game, this is a good lesson to learn. It's hard to hit the fastball late in games, especially 98 heaters. As a groundball and strikeout pitcher, he got to make these f***ers earned it by hitting his best pitch. he also blew a game when he came in last year with a runner on, got ahead and then went to the changeup. I think it was the 2nd game of the season.
