    I wouldn't worry about Devers and Benintendi, they're not going anywhere and FO has specifically prohibits DD in dealing them in any situation. With Betts back healthy next year, those 3 are the backbone of that lineup. You add JD Martinez and Carlos Santana/Nunez, it becomes a really good offense team again. But we also can't ignore the pitching too. They were on fumes by September.

    Martinez has a 146OPS+ with Detroit over 4 season, that is Stanton's career. That's about as good as there is in free agency. He plays OF, and that opens up possibly moving JBJ. I don't picture him as a regular DH, surely Han-ram can share duties and be happy right?

    Someone name JD Martinez who is a Dombrowski guy, has 45HR this year in just over 400AB. He hit 29HR in 232AB with Arizona, a much more favorable environment than in Detroit. He could be sign for cash, John Henry got a blank check surely for a player like that. I don't see how Stanton would leave Miami, what would they wow Miami with to pry him away?

    Stanton is a pipe dream. I don't like trading away from the team to add when a similar comp is a free agent.

    I wouldn't trade for Donaldson. You're subtracting from the team to add him. Target a bat like JD Martinez, and who cares at this point about the luxury taxes. They have to win with Sale, Betts, Benni, Devers, while they can.

    No, they were better than any other options. Not having Nunez hurts, and Farrell burrying Devers in the bottom of the order and benching him also came back to bite them.

    Moons, are those average salaries added up or actual salaries for 2018? I actually remember reading the threshold is around $220M for 2018. If they offer Mookie $25M now for 3 year, his average salaries will be $8M yearly for the next 3 year. It worth exploring a mega deal for him too.
