It seems to me that the Red Sox pitching staff hasn't been taking anything for granted. Peavy hasn't been to the playoffs in 7 years, and he seems about as locked in as possible. During a pre-game interview, he basically said he was prepared in every conceivable way. He also seems like the kind of guy who thrives on high-rest because of his talent level and fragile tendencies. Fister is a low strikeout, mid-tier right hander. If the Sox can't do damage, they'll knock him out of the game by the 5th anyway and feast on the pen.
Crucial game tonight. Fister is not the guy you want to let beat you, especially with the rest of the Tigers rotation being so insane. Hopefully lower K numbers tonight
There was a big banner up when we transitioned to the new site, basically saying that if you aren't logged in, you get advertisements. If you are logged in, I have no idea why you're getting them.
If the Red Sox win tonight, it has to do some damage to the Tiger's confidence. When you have three consecutive gems, 6 IP, 0 H, 0R, 7 IP 1H, 0R and 8IP, 0R and you end up 1-2, what on earth are you going to do? That has to hurt.
