    Very strange to think about it, but 300 million won't get them very far unless they get rid of their best player... and that point they need to find a way to replace their best player.

    I'm pretty pissed too. I was going to see if I could snag some facevalue tickets tonight, but stubhub prices have skyrocketed. I then go onto facebook where all the pink hats with rich fathers are saying they are going to the game, after not watching a single game all season. f*** not having money.

    If Gomes goes 0-4, plays mediocre defense, and the Red Sox win the game... does Gomes have anything to do with it? Playing Gomes consecutive days against righties is a poor choice.

    I'm watching the Lester/Bogaerts post-game press conference, and it is my first chance to listen to Xander. Considering that English has to be his 3rd or 4th language, he seems to have a good deal of composure and intelligence, and plenty of humility. Everything about the kid is impressive.

    Is anyone concerned that Kojii's highfives seem to have a low energy? I hope he doesn't get burned out.

    He was utterly dominant against the Rays last series. He was also the best defender in the game this whole season, which makes him invaluable even if he doesn't hit that well this series.

    Why set up the DP? Having 1B open has its perks.

    Why is Middlebrooks running? Shouldn't they put in Berry, and then use Middlebrooks as a defensive replacement?

    Peavy was a win-now move. It will probably bite them later, but he earned them the AL East, and home field advantage and won a crucial game 4 against Tampa that setup the rotation for the Tigers series. Peavy isn't quite Beckett + Lowell, but Iggy isn't Hanley either.

    5 innings for Kojii? Yeesh, Breslow has been very very good.

    Pedroia already has several other better nicknames.

    Fielder has done nothing in the postseason so far... Really hope Breslow doesn't make a mistake here.
