  1. Major League Baseball has rejected Manny Ramirez's bid to play winter ball in the Dominican Republic. Rob Manfred, Major League Baseball's executive vice president of labor relations, said Ramirez can't play because he's on the inactive list, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick. Ramirez abruptly retired in April after violating Major League Baseball's drug policy for the second time, meaning he is facing a 100-game suspension. "Manny Ramirez cannot play for a major or minor league club or any affiliated organization, including a winter league team, without getting the consent of the commissioner,'' Manfred said, according to Crasnick. After learning of MLB's ruling, Ramirez told ESPNdeportes.com's Enrique Rojas he plans to formally request reinstatement to the major leagues. "I would comply with my pending sanction and I would be available for any major league team," Ramirez told Rojas via telephone from Miami. "I already informed (agent) Scott Boras of my decision to return and begin the process. "If any team wants to sign me, I would play. If no one does, I would look to play in Japan or any other place. I was not prepared for retirement." Ramirez, 39, had hoped to play for the Aguilas Cibaenas, his former Dominican League team. The outfielder hit 555 homers and had a .312 during a 19-year big-league career. He was 17 at-bats into his stint as a DH with the Rays when he retired. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/dailypitch/post/2011/09/manny-ramirez-dominican-winter-league-reinstatement/1
  2. Yeah but the Yankees lineup were already built up. Tex should be a Red Sox. Hell of a first basemen. Better then the one we have right now. Also Boston blew their load on position players. Granted theere weren't many good pitcher now but to waste so much money so rashly on players that are questionable. It all comes to management again. :dunno:
  3. Dont get carried away newbie. Doesn't Yankees have their own boards? Why they gotta come to a Red Sox one? lol
  4. Congrats. Well deserve.
  5. What the Yankees are about to do is what Sox should be doing instead they are looking to get unseeded by the Rays. lol love how things work out.
  6. Playing bad and having horrible pitchers are two different things. I dont see how the Sox can magically pitch gems. Betckett and Lester are the only ones you can count and even they can go more then 5 innings. Its just sad.
  7. Well thank you Yankees for doing Red Sox job.
  8. If they make it. It wont be because of effort either. Sox can thank the Rays for going on a sucking streak once in the season. The Sox had a terrible start and a horrible finish. If anything they deserve to be booted. If they make it it will be because they lucked out and will only mean they will get swept concecuently in the playoffs. I wouldn't take it either. Cant afford the trip there and back. And ok cool. Maybe we'll talk more next season. This one is already over. Even if the make it to the PO.
  9. Wow at this point I just dont know what else to say. This team is just disgusting right now.
  10. Ah. Blackout here. Didn't even realized they were going to show it at ESPN.
  11. Do you get the Yes channel too? lol
  12. Its ok Pedey. We got Orioles by the balls.
  13. Just waiting for when the Umpires get replaced by robots. They'll do a better, more accurate job at calling games.
  14. Will they overturn it? Why is Francona even out. f***ing Umpires.
  15. Why he stopped?!!!!
  16. Alright then. Lets f*** this pitcher up now.
  17. Oh look, playing from behind.....again.
  18. WOW that sox at bat was extremely fast. smh
  19. Vlad is horribly late on all his swings. How is this guy still in the league?
  20. How old are you? Me wanting the Sox to lose wasn't about my personal want to see this team suffer. It was so they learn a lesson. Mainly Francona and his questionable managerial ways. If this team loses, then they will have to make big changes. If they were to make it they are less susceptible to make changes. That's why most times bad things need to happen to make changes. We as a whole nation become too comfortable with what we got. It is not until something awful happens that we spur into action.
