  1. that's the clincher. sometimes the yankees aren't even as relevant as the rays anymore, right? wonder if 20 years down the line or whatever we'll ever see shirts that say: I support the sox and whoever beats the rays. could it happen?
  2. Ha, okay yea if I were on a forum and randomly saw this I wouldn't volunteer either. How's this: I know of a way to get free SRO tickets to Sox home games from the Red Sox organization itself. It's not a gimmick, it's just something very few people know about. I've been to two games this season this way, and am going to go to five more. Help me out, and I'll share the info.
  3. yea, that's pretty much what I figured. The feeling I get is that hardcore Sox fans know that sometimes teams like the Rays are a bigger rival, whereas a lot of newer Sox fans just love to hate the Yanks. On the other hand, I dunno maybe I'm wrong. I'm actually doing a research project for school on the Red Sox Nation, basically on this very question. My name's Dexter and I'm not from New England, so I'm just learning about the Sox. I like what I've learned so far, though, which is why I'm doing this project--to find out more, basically. What I really need, though, is to interview some Sox fans. The interview is easy, basically you just get to talk about the Sox the whole time, which we all do on this site anyways... If you're interested (and of course I'd be ever appreciative) send me a PM. It would take less than an hour and we could watch the Sox play while talked, if you prefer. Lastly, some food for thought: do you HAVE to hate the Yankees to be a true Sox fan?
  4. obviously the sox winning AND the yanks losing is the most preferable, but if you had to choose one, which gets you more fired up? I've honestly noticed some people who seem to get more excited if the Yankees are doing badly than if the Sox are doing well.
  5. Sherrill....WILTING!!!
  6. Yea man, well said. Now let's see what the media does after today's day game...
  7. puts things a little in perspective, huh? I guess we should be glad for what we have. Just look at the Cubs, yea?
