  1. gonna try like hell to get to Rosenblatt this year. probably coulda pulled it off last year. woulda meant getting a divorce, but I probably shoulda went. missed out on seeing a National Championship.
  2. you're credibility just went through the roof in my eyes. unfortunately, i haven't made it any rival stadiums yet (no I don't consider Toolame a rival, LSU easily outnumbered them in the dome). been to a few small stadiums in Louisiana (plus LSU and the Superdome obviously). not sure what the 2010 football season will hold for me travelwise, but I'm hoping to hit a few ballparks this coming baseball season. LSU (i should be shot for not getting to see a game at the new Alex Box yet) Nicholls (usually make 1 or 2 a year since it is only 30 minutes from here) Toolame USL Southern Miss who knows, maybe even a few others if I get lucky.
  3. it was 72 degrees for the Sugar Bowl. no wind, no rain. New Orleans is an interesting city. no telling what the hell you're gonna see there on any given night. i usually try to avoid the place. infrastructure is absolutely terrible. sometimes you have to go 3 or 4 blocks out of your way just to get back to where you're going. Traffic is a bitch. much prefer Baton Rouge. can get 92,000 people (usually closer to 150,000-200,000 on campus) in and out pretty quickly compared to how New Orleans handles the 70,000 that go to Saints games (and nowhere near the extra tailgaters). I'm gonna make the trip to Starkville one of these years (but Oxford is 1st on the list).
  4. SWEET! i've only attended one bowl game so far (Sugar Bowl after '06 season LSU vs Notre Dame), but i've been able to party in New Orleans for the Sugar several times now. atmosphere is usually pretty good, and all them tourist spending money in NOLA is a good thing for the city.
  5. couple I left off my original list. Met LaRon Landry after the Sugar Bowl after the '06 season. Wet sat 20 rows from the field. He came up into the stands to talk to his parent who were sitting the row right in front of us. Also, I caught a pass from Rohan Davey in the Arena league. He was playing for New York, and they came to New Orleans. Sitting 4th row, and his pass was deflected by a DB, and came right to me. Never met the guy though.
  6. couple guys currently playing up in Boston. Kevin Faulk when he was still at LSU, I met him at fan day. Big Baby Davis sat next to me on a flight from New Orleans to Houston when he was still a Tiger. I played High School football against Jake Delhomme (twice). Dude was damn good in HS. Former Saints players I've met through work: Dalton Hilliard Bobby Hebert Rickey Jackson J.J. McCluskey
  7. yeah, Miles is safe. If we win the bowl game, he'll have four 10 win seasons in five years. If that along with a National title doesn't buy job security, we'll never find anyone willing to work here again. As far as fans leaving, the quality of our fans has dropped drastically during the course of this decade. Death Valley was once absolutely feared by our opponents. We always had a full house of drunk and rowdy cajuns. Now, fans leave if we're not dominating every opponent, and leave if we're up by more than 3 TDs in the 2nd half. And they rarely show up full force for games other than the big dogs of the SEC (Bama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia). We've been spoiled by our success.
  8. y'all had a big cheering section in Baton Rouge Saturday. our tailgate spot along with the 4 nearest to us all had y'all game on TVs on campus. crowd grew steadily, and got rowdier as the game went on. thank y'all for making pre-game even better than normal. looks like we'll be Capital One Bowl bound, probably against Penn State
  9. wonder how Kentucky fans felt when LSU hoisted the National Championship trophy :harhar:
  10. I go to at least 3, and usually 5 games a year since '86. been there for some of the biggest games of my lifetime. Never got to sit in Student section though. I may be biased as hell, but you've got to experience a BIG game in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday NIGHT. Yeah we show up for day games, but at night, Tiger Stadium officially morphs into Death Valley.
  11. not free, but I did score 2 tickets in the LSU student section for the game against Arky next weekend. Saturday Night, Death Valley, Student section, i'm about to blow a load just thinking about it.
  12. msubulldogs, lots and LOTS of rumours floating around that the Ku Klux Klan will be staging a rally on Ole Miss' campus this weekend for the game against LSU. They supposed to be protesting Ole Miss banning the band from playing "From Dixie with Love". You hearing anything out that direction? Any truth to this one?
  13. good luck with that. i'll flip over every so often to check on y'all during commercials of LSU/LaTech game.
  14. um, only way y'all are beating Bama is if their bus driver accidentally takes them to the wrong stadium. even then, the Zebras will probably figure out a way to penalize the Dogs for it.
