  1. That was ugly. Gomez at third. No outs.
  2. Well, at least Lugo hasn't booted one yet today. 2ks and a weak-ass ground out. Green should be in there.
  3. I can see why some people are disappointed in Ellsbury. But I don't think he is a bust. He's a work in progress.
  4. During his streak he has had a lot of 1-4, 1-5 games. He does need to walk more and to get multi-hit games. I say he is still learning his craft. Even his base running needs work. But you can't discount his athleticism. They guy is so fast.
  5. More 2 out magic for ms_sox.
  6. Pedroia can hit almost anything. Come on Youk! Yeah!!!! 5-1
  7. Youk is off to the side in the dugout taking "air swings". That guy is intense.
  8. Welcome Doc. I was about to rag on Ellsbury for getting nailed at second when I just lost the thread. Every other bookmark loaded. At least I saw the runs score!
  9. Did the TalkSox server go down? I lost the thread for 24 minutes.
  10. Oye! Another great opportunity shot to hell. They have to get on the board early and often. I just don't understand Lugo in stead of Green today.
  11. Bailley disappoints. Our favorite SS to single here?
  12. Veritek disappoints. We got to score one, at least. A deep fly ball?
  13. Those Red hats are hideous!
  14. Nice inning by Penny. We need six more like that (not likely). I wonder where YOTN will be sitting. He said he would miss the first part of the game.
  15. HD is worthy of the hype when watching games.
  16. I don't understand why Green isn't playing. Especially with turf. Lugo can't catch up with balls hit on grass. I think Tito wants more right handed batters in the lineup against the lefty. Still, a weak lineup.
  17. This line-up is weak. Why no Drew?
  18. Along way to go. I'm about to watch the PawSox game on NESN. At least for a few innings. I was looking at the box score for the Red Sox and it revealed that we left 19 men on base. Not surprising with so many hits and walks. What is disturbing was that Papi stranded 8. I don't have any faith that he is going to suddenly snap out of his funk and start to hit productively. I also don't see the Sox doing anything (benching, change in batting order, trade for a hitter, etc.) about it soon. Tito will stick with him for the foreseeable future. I think Nick Green is the starting shortstop. Period. I realize that he makes bonehead plays in the field and he is a journeyman utility infielder. But he represents the best option at this point. Sit Lugo and use him to pinch hit and pinch run. With an occasional blow for Green Lugo can start. $9 mil is certainly too much to pay a situational player but what else can be done? Velasquez? He has not proven that he can hit consistently in the majors. Lowrey will return in July. And I think he is the best SS on the roster. But I don't know that he will be 100% healthy and in game condition. How will his timing at the plate be? How long will it take for him to regain his timing and what limitations will there be with the repaired wrist ? Hopefully he will be back to being his normal self in mid August. Doesn't sound good but it's probably realistic.
  19. I don't know of the man. Some of the more ardent fans on the board may know. Welcome to the site and I hope you join us on game threads often. The thread was quiet today but most nights it's pretty active.
  20. What are you referring to?
