  1. A solid plunk off the wall by Green.
  2. A solid hit by Kotsay. Or a solid e-4.
  3. s***! 145 posts in 2 2/3 innings! Solid.
  4. A very Solid inning. Hope Beckett is still sharp after the long wait.
  5. That was a solid pitch to Ortiz. Solid off his bat! 2-0! Seven game hitting streak.
  6. I'm watching Hannah Montana with my six year old Daughter. The torture will end now as I have to take her back to her Mother. See you in about 20 minutes. Go Sox!
  7. Welcome aboard. Join us for the game thread tonight.
  8. I did some research. He averages about 28 HR/year and has good slg and ops. I'd love to have him in a Sox uni. I just don't see why the Sox would consider this trade now. As you said, it won't happen.
  9. I'll certainly take your word for that. But Why make the move? Power? What about trading two promising young pitchers as well as Ellsbury. Seems lopsided to me. In any case, is it a rumor? And if so, what is it's source?
  10. My kids and my friends say that I make the best French Toast they have had. Now I'm hungry. Thanks.
  11. Philly, eh? Grad school at U. Penn? I was born there.
  12. Ha ha ha ha!
  13. Sean McAdam said in today's Herald that this would not happen. It's been 5 years since he played here. His offensive numbers are not what they were back then. I'm not sure why he was jettisoned by the Sox. I liked him when he was here. Lowrey is the Sox SS.
  14. Yankees win! Yankees win! Blah blah blah blah blah......
  15. You're right. I'm thinking as a Sox fan.
  16. I'm not sure anyone here is truly qualified to put an accurate value on Bowden. He is a promising young ML pitcher. He has no MLB track record to speak of. It's nice to project MLB performance but ultimately one is just speculating. Having said that, good young pitching is a valuable commodity. A MLB shortstop with mediocre numbers is not. Even if he has some "pop". I'm with ORS on this one. There is no need to panic now. Let's see what Lowrey can do when he comes back. From what I saw of him last year, he had the makings of a very solid hitter and was more than average at short. Once again, I have no numbers to back what I say. Just my impressions from watching him. He can play 3rd and 2nd in case the need arises, and is cheap.
  17. Damon hits a dinger to give the Yanks the lead, 4-3. Plenty of time for Tampa.
  18. Yeah, that may be true. He is ripped. Are his teeth gaped? Is his forehead prominent? Not sure. Probably juiced. I still like him.
  19. Wicked cool. How about a Rockies or Tigers shirt? Seriously, the guy is alright. He is intelligent and articulate and comports himself with honor. He played hard (not always pretty) and has (I believe) earned the respect and admiration of Sox fans. There are two former Sox players that I would like to see as coaches or as a manager with the Sox. Kapler and Eric Wedge.
  20. I've always liked Gape Kapler. As a player, and as a person. The image of Gabe rounding second, getting his cleat caught in the turf seam and rupturing his Achilles Tendon is etched in my memory. He always played hard for the Sox and conducted himself as a gentleman off the field. As a bonus, his Wife is a babe.
