  1. Okajima is f***ing up.
  2. Skankees 4, Mets 1 in the bottom of the 5th.
  3. Woooooooo! Pedroia with the RBI. 3-0.
  4. That was not pretty.
  5. Yeah. .162 in his last ten games.
  6. Nope. Burnett's Vanilla. Its made with wheat, I believe. It's cheap, but good.
  7. It would be nice to see some hitting here.
  8. 1-2-3 for Beckett. That shot to Bay was tagged.
  9. Oops. My bad. Must be the cheap vodka.
  10. Beckett has to be on tonight. Jurrjens looks like he may be tough.
  11. Game time! No Youk or Ells. Hope the bats produce.
  12. Why? Is he such an upgrade from Kotsay? He's a career .273 hitter, has played 100+ games in a season only 2 out of 8 MLB seasons, has never hit more than 23 HR, and is pretty average as a 1st baseman. I say wait. Let's see how things go for the next month. Maybe I'm missing something here. And if this were to happen, why is it MDC PLUS a prospect? Wouldn't MDC alone be enough?
  13. Braves 1. Nate McLouth, CF 2. Martin Prado, 2B 3. Chipper Jones, 3B 4. Garret Anderson, LF 5. Casey Kotchman, 1B 6. Jeff Francoeur, RF 7. David Ross, C 8. Diory Hernandez, SS 9. Jair Jurrjens, RHP
  14. Probably won't get paid. Other than that, big dif.
  15. Beckett gets a hit tonight.
  16. And they will all "fit in" as long as they keep pace with the tatoos!
  17. Soooo.... I like Ellsbury in the bottom of the order.
  18. Come on. You don't really believe their decision to draft a white player was because of a desire to field a predominantly white team, do you? That would be really foolish of them. I assume they either drafted from need or just took the best player available on their board. I hope so, anyway!
  19. No one really expected the Celts to land an impact player here. And most likely they didn't. Admittedly, I've never seen the kid play. I've just read the scouting reports and such on him. I just don't see him making the roster as it is comprised now. Instant offense is a desirable trait. But it usually comes at a price. Defensive liability. I have seen the reports of his athleticism and his steals. He is intriguing. Will he bump Pruitt, Walker, etc.? I guess that's why ESPN has dubbed him "a fun pick".
  20. I agree with Doc here. Lugo will be around probably until the trade deadline, and possibly for the rest of the season. Why?They owe him a s*** load and a half of money. He's shown some production at the plate since his return from surgery. His range SHOULD improve as his knee mends and the quads get stronger. And, with a possible Lowell - less lineup looming, they need the infield depth. We no longer have the luxury of Alex Cora on the bench. As much as we disparage Lugo ( in most cases justifiably) he does have some value to this team. Certainly more than he would seem to garner in a trade. It will be interesting to see what roster move the Sox make when Lowrie returns. I still see Bard back in Pawtucket if a trade is not made.
  21. I don't choose to become involved with an Ellsbury vs. Gardner debate. But I will add this. Gardner appears to have a harder head. That is all.
