As everyone should know by now, I like the kid. So read this post at your own peril.
First of all, the guy is smart. They don't give scholarships away at Stanford.
Next, he has Major league skills. He's average to above average defensively at short stop.
His only shortcoming is arm strength. He has an accurate arm, but he is not a cannon from the hole.
Offensively, he is a weapon that most teams would like to have. A switch hitter (a rightly) is a valuable commodity. He has gap power. That wins games. He can run. That can win games.
Play with all the advanced metrics if it makes you feel good. This kid is a player.
So much time is spent on discussing is time off the field. Not enough attention has been on his time on the field. His wrist injury should be in the past. Mono has stripped him from his core strength (now).
He's going to show what he can do in 2011.
