  1. I think that was the general idea that pena was gonna replace the right field position. But he can't. He can tear the cover off the ball when he gets a hold of it. But he strikes out like 15 times per game LOL. They brought him over because they thoought he had the potential to be a good hitter with the help of the hitting coach. I thought that being around Manny and big Pap at the time, they would work with him and he would take some lessons from those 2 guys. especially Manny as good of a hitter he is. But it never worked out. The guy is a beast and has a ton of power but his lack of plate discipline isn't how the red sox play the game. I think they took a chance on him the same way they took a cjance with big papi before he came over from the twins. He wasn't that good a hitter, but had a lt of power. The red sox signed him and in his 1st year he was amazing. and now he's one of the faces of the franchise. I think the sox were hoping Wily Mo would turn out to be the same way. They were getting a low cost player with power with the potential and hopes of him becoming a better hitter, but it never worked out. I can only imagine what the sox line up would have been like if Wily Mo developed into a better batting average hitter along with his power a few years ago. Big Papi, Manny and Wily Mo batting 3,4, and 5. That would've been great to watch.
  2. Go f*** your mother!! and you might have to wait in line to do that.
  3. BTW can someone please take him to a tailor, dude looked like he was pitching in sweat pants last night. I noticed those Mc hammer pants he was wearing on sports center. I thought the Yankees had a limit to how baggy their players pants can be. I know they have certain rules in the player contracts about hair legnth, facial hair and uniforms. I heard they can wear loose pants only to a certain extent. I think CC was breaking the team rules. But maybe they made an exception for him since he weighs about 550 pounds.
  4. That goatee he sported was so goddamn ugly. LOL! was it worse than Kevin Youkilis. I'm a die hard sox fan, but I wish he would at least keep that red rug shaved down. He looks like the missing memember from zz top.
  5. I think that's the yankee way. That's good old mr. steinbrener for you. I'm no Yankee fan, but I think the dark blue colored jersey would be a nice look. Something a little different than the same old pinstripes. There's not much color in the yankees uniforms to do much with. Look at the mets. They have blue, black and orange to work with. They got pinstripes, and every now and then they go back to the original pinstripes with the big orange line on the side. Then they wear the black jerseys which are stupid to me. They should wear the spring training jerseys. The Blue ones with the black striped sleeves that they sell in the stores. Baseball uniforms are to boring in general. half the teams look the same. Look at the Rays. They changed their uniform which looks nice, but they changed the color from grass green to that dark sue blue color. They look just like the Mariners. They should have kept the natural green color. The Diamondbacks changed their uniforms last year, and now they look just like the Nationals and the Angels. Some of the college baseball uniforms look better. They have more different colors. You don't see many teams in the mlb with burgundy or maroon, or purple. The pirates could wear a yellow jersey as their alternate uniform. Get more creative.
  6. Was this the same game that had david Ortiz and Trot Nixon stomping the s*** out of Tanyon Sturtze while he was rooling around on the ground trying to avoid the ass beating ?LOL.
  7. I'm not always big on changes when it comes to uniforms. I've been a sox fan since "98, and I like the road uniforms with the red lettering much better. I know the blue letters are from the 80's. The 80's uniforms had much darker letters which made it look more black than blue. The new letters are more blue. But it doesn't really go with the hat in my opinion. The red hat logo with blue lettering on the jerseys is a bit off. I'm sticking with my original red sox hat with the "B" logo. The hanging sox are cool for the fans to wear, but it looks more proffessional in the game to stick with the letter B on the hat. I actually love the alternate colored blue road jerseys with the red lettering. I had one of these a few years ago with Manny's name on it. Of course I've threw it away. But I've been wondering for years why they never used these jerseys. They go perfect with the hat, and it still keeps the "red" in red sox with the red lettering.
