  1. Lester leaving it up...
  2. Baldelli ahead of Bay? WTF
  3. Yeah, the Rays have a lot of .250 hitters. Seriously, that lineup isn't what won them 97 games last year. They were 9th out of 14 in runs scored.
  4. Rays lineup isn't scaring anyone. I see a lot of .250 hitters.
  5. You're selling Hardy's glove short. He can pick it.
  6. These aren't your father's Orioles.
  7. Or maybe not. Don't forget we still have Drew and his mandatory DL stints.
  8. I watched Kottaras very closely this spring and think he could be ready. He has a nice power stroke. Sox could start him against righties and Tek against lefties.
  9. Ellsbury Pedroia Ortiz Youk Bay Drew Lowell Lowrie Kottaras
  10. The thing is, Smoltz was dominant at 40 last year before getting hurt. Certain guys when healthy can be very effective into their 40s. With Smoltz, age isn't the issue, health is.
  11. Don't forget about Smoltz. I expect 10 wins and a sub-3.50 ERA.
  12. Nothing is ever guaranteed. Nevertheless, this is the deepest Sox staff I've ever seen coming into a season. The only real questions are how to get everybody the innings they need.
  13. The guy I saw on the Reds was a big lug who could hit an occassional ball 500 feet, but had no baseball skills whatsoever. And yeah, the Sox are 8 deep at starter, and like every other team they have a few risks. A few risks with 8 is better than a few risks with just 5.
  14. Sox are deep with starters now, so obviously no need for Arroyo today. But the truth is the Reds fleeced the Sox on that deal. Arroyo is a cheap reliable 4/5 starter innings eater who has won more games since he's been gone than anyone on the Sox except Beckett. Trading him for an injured 5th outfielder who can't field or get his bat on the ball wasn't such a great idea.
  15. AL East - Red Sox, Rays (WC), Yankees, Orioles, Jays AL Central - Guardians, Tigers, White Sox, Twins, Royals AL West - Angels, A's, Rangers, Mariners NL East - Mets, Phillies, Braves, Marlins, Nats NL Central - Cubs, Cardinals (WC), Reds, Brewers, Astros, Pirates NL West - Giants, D'Backs, Dodgers, Rockies, Pads
  16. I'm trying to project a good image.
  17. Looking forward to another championship season. rhet
