    IMO Dunn is awesome on offense but this guy sucks with a glove on...I know,I know it is only 1st base but it is not happening.

    Dunn at 1st would be...interesting at best. I love the bat he provides but put any glove on the guy he is a liability. The Sox won't go that route, Dunn is a DH by nature...no room in boston with Papi.

    I don't get Hanley Ramirez in center...I do get him at short though. Give the Fish any prospects they might want other than Lars of course.

    I am not jumping out of my seat but Penny is not a bad deal. He will add depth and I just hope we get the 4.06 Penny not the 6.27 Penny.

    It's simple really...give Youk the $. His future with this club lies at 3rd base when Lars comes up. Lowell will be gone and Youk can easily be the Sox future at 3rd. Theo... lock him up.

    Fielder, sure why not I would give them Lugo+Bowden....I am sure they would jump at that... lol.

    Bowden for Salty...check Tek 2/12...check Lugo + to Det for Willis and Thames...not so much Sign Smoltz 1year...check. I don't want any part of the D-train, 9.38 Era 18k 35bb...devloped serious controll issues. Maybe Lugo for Thames straight up?

    I think we have hit panic mode. This system we have works and I don't think that getting rid of Fenway makes any sense really... I mean do we want to be the Yankees? Give me a good farm system and some real grinders for ball players any day over high priced big name free agents. I know these are boards for discussion but getting rid of Fenway...thats just sacrilegious.

    The Tex thing has taken over and you are right there is a real hole to fill at catcher, but every discussion seems to fall back to Tex. Lets just hope it comes to a end soon so we can all talk about real needs. Tex would be great to have but look if we don't get him we are still a good ball team that should have gone to the WS last year with the lineup we have ( minus Tek ). I like this thread WHO CAN CATCH?
