  1. He's an upgrade over Golson abd could keep the seat warm for Laird. Lateral move, I like.
  2. With a lot pitching prospects. I see the team giving this kids shots to earn spots the rotation for the next year or two. There are no significant FA pitchers until the 2012-13 offseason. Of all of them, the one with the most chance to reach his ceiling is Manny Banuelos. I could see one of Phelps, Warren and Noesi establishing themselves as a back-end of the rotation guys. Betances is intriguing, but most scouts think he ends in the pen, same with Brackman. Stoneburner falls on that category too.
  3. One good year of Scutaro over 15 of Jeter. Good one
  4. Good predictions. Except for Dice-K. 2nd best ERA on the team?
  5. That's the highest you'll see him in any rank. Mlb.com had Montero at 9th which is BS.
  6. In this case, Posada.
  7. The other 16 teams are also on the draft, you know.
  8. I could understand if he had said that. But he said... Even if I were a Pirates fan, I'd disagree with that.
  9. A homer like you would never think of the possibility that Beckett, Dice-K and Lackey could suck again. Lineups? The only noticeable advantage is A-Gon, Crawford and Youk at their respective positions. Don't forget about the black hole you guys have at C and your question mark CF. As I said, it's even.
  10. He said they look better than the Yankees right now. IMO the teams are even.
  11. The Yankees are and have always been a "Win now" team. The last bridge year was 1995.
  12. My bad, I thought Lee was dealt AFTER the Haren. They weren't thinking about the 2011 rotation, they were thinking about improving the team back in July. Remember Javy had a great June (3.23 ERA and 0.97 WHIP) and July (3.34 ERA and 1.11 WHIP), and no one expected to blow out like he did. Plus Haren has a career 4.07 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in the 2nd half, add the AL East factor to that and you have a problem. With CC, Hughes, Pettite, Vasquez and Burnett, we all thought Lee or Haren would have been a luxury. I would love to have Haren now, but getting Haren back then, means they wouldn't have tried to get Lee this off-season.
  13. You mentioned his career line, the only reason he is a hall of famer, are a) +2400 hits and 13 gold gloves and he played on a era were he probably was the best offensive SS. My point is I'd rather have Lowrie if healthy at SS. Is not like Lowrie is an horrendous defender to justify having Andrus 2.0 in the everyday lineup.
  14. Even if you're comparing him to a HoF, is not a good upside. Just saying I'd rather have Lowrie. In fact I would've kept Fuentes instead of Iglesias in the A-Gon deal.
  15. If that's the predicted slash line of your future SS, you guys better keep Lowrie around.
