Thought Cassel looked very good on Sunday. If you remember that he's basically a very raw rookie who never really got too many snaps in college much less the NFL, and his D and O lines are both old and declining, what he's doing is fantastic. Hard to argue with 3-1 with a novice QB, even with the total sucktastic nature of the 1
Great, great, great, totally friggin' GREAT to see Cassel and Moss get some chemistry going! That's absolutely huge. It probably increases our season win total by one just right there.
Cassel was already pretty good at gaining field position, now he's learning all the little nuances of the NFL game that you can't learn by watching, which is incredible because of just how little experience the man has. He's starting to be able to pick apart bad defenses and he takes good care of the rock.
I'm starting to really, really like this kid.
But for the record, I'd trade Cassel for JT O'Sullivan in a heartbeat. Our pass rush is not good but that guy can really move.
I think Cassel's as ready as he's likely to be for the trial by fire that's coming up. The next month is full of good football teams, if he can come through that stretch 2-2 or better this team is going to the playoffs, JMHO.
