  1. that guy is a moron and close to illiterate. boston herald writers would laugh at that garbage. that was my comment: "why are people saying that it is so well written? theres a paragraph and every sentence starts with...the boston red sox... am i missing something?" now its gone and only the good things are there. i cant believe i wasted my time going back and looking at that pathetic piece
  2. still confident in ortiz, the rest of the series/season doesnt matter right now.
  3. still two runs, are we really going to get down at this point ? the offense will wake up once they are pressed to the wall again
  4. why were the sox one of the eight teams he didn't want to go to?
  5. its easy to get tickets if you wait in the day of game ticket line. the line is under the green monster and the tickets go on sale at 5 o clock for face value. unless you are one of the first ones in line and you have big money, you will most likely get standing room, possibly bleacher. but since the tickets go on sale at 5, you have to get there to stand in line after lunch - depending on the game. some games you can get there at 4 30...but most games you should plan on waiting for 4 hours or so by getting there at 1. if its a yankees weekend game, you get there the night before.
  6. another riveting post by yeszir. how about the fact that coco crisp is batting .476 in 21 career at bats vs washburn? or that youk has 5 hits in 10 at bats vs washburn in his career? or how much washburn basically sucks for being paid almost $10 mil even though he has a losing record over the past three years. it might even be worth noting that the mariners havent seen much of lester over his career, with beltre and ichiro both facing him the most at 6 at bats each. but somehow, in 2 games and 10 innings total, he has an ERA over 8 against the mariners over his short career. just some added insight, comment as you please everyone. maybe something worthwhile so that while i read this and look out my office window at fenway park i can think about things related to the red sox, not just read about how tired you are.
  7. wow ksushi, i didnt think your roommate even knew what baseball was? i mean, besides the bat and balls part i cant see him being that interested. im surprised that he would be willing to give you opinions about red sox players but lester's game was pretty sweet and im still upset that i decided to go to my soccer game instead of that game. oh well.
  8. Starting Pitcher: Tim Wakefield Position Player: JD Drew Relief pitcher: none deserving Bench player: Sean Casey best game: coco crisp manning up and charging the mound vs the d-rays then getting his hair pulled by carl crawford (could also qualify as a terrible game because ellsbury hurt his wrist, which still lingers)
  9. i dont think that the words platoon and dustin pedroia should ever be mentioned in the same sentence. but dumping alex cora would be a great idea to free up time for lugo and lowrie to split time.
  10. i think tyronn lue would be a major upgrade over sam cassell. anyone that plays point guard by walking up the court and shooting it (and missing 20 times in a row during the playoffs) can be upgraded by pretty much anyone. and apparently since the celtics won one championship they are taking the Patriots way of working the front office by disguising every move, denying reports that a contract offer was made to Maggette.
  11. the injury is a good point and he will hit better soon enough. but to agree with ksushi, i dont think he will ever be one of the elite centerfielders in the game and trading him now while his stock is high seems like a good option. i think that dropping him in the order would be detrimental because it would just affirm that francona believes he is slumping, which could hurt his confidence pushing it to a point where it would be tough to regain.
  12. i think it basically comes down to whether he wants to compete for a championship (celtics) or play with an aging team in the brutal conference that is the west and receive a nicer check. my guess is the spurs like you said
  13. what are the chances that a Maggette takes a paycut to go from always losing to hopefully wnning another NBA championship? also, does he seem like the type of guy that will give in to the "im not the only scorer" pattern that the Big3 did to make the Celtics successful this year? Especially since Maggette may not even start given the projected lineup. i'd love to have a talent like Maggette, but as much as he is an upgrade over Posey, does he fit into the puzzle very well...I guess Danny Ainge will have to figure that out in the next few days.
