  1. We should be looking hard for a replacement for jason, but in the meantime i think he needs more time off than he is getting. With the physical demands of his position more time off might translate to a quicker bat. I believe we should replace cash with someone who can handle wake's knuckler and provide SOME offense better than what tek has given us. Lets keep captain tek a little fresher.
  2. i'm not the only one! I too would rather see lowrie instead of lugo especially if ortiz can't make it back. With the struggling offense, a swap back of moss and carter would be in line. Tough call on jason varitek. At this point, the sox should be looking hard for someone who can supply Some offense AND can handle the knuckler. I don't believe cash will ever hit. Another possibility, while off the wall would be to sign mirabelli to a minor league deal to see if he can get his stroke back. We need something better from the catcher position, offensively.
  3. i agree, his splitter has been well out of the K zone and he has had to come in with his average fastball. Recently oki seems to have come alive. His splitter "looks" to the batter to be in the strike zone. For now i think mdc or aardsma for the 8th inning. Would love to see a deal for fuentes but i think the cost would be too prohibitive. Interesting move grooming masterson for a possible move to the setup role. If it happens someone will go, possibly timlin.
  4. terrific info, still havent seen his personal info like righty or lefty, ht or weight. This guy must have some talent. How about his age? Sox might have found a sleeper here.
  5. too bad doug's bat speed is too slow, he can sure handle wake. I think cash will improve with more at bats, and he seemed to handle wake quite well in 2007 when needed
