  1. I think so - he is just on 82 pitches right?
  2. Hopefully at the end of second game - they will have no bullpen left.
  3. Youk singled. Drew doubled. Youk on third. Ball hits Youk - Youk scored. Lowell striked out looking like he has some vision problems.
  4. Thrown balls have a strange way to find Youk
  5. How about Lackey? Wonder how long he will last. Second Angels collision in the outfield today I think?
  6. Can someone provide an update on pitch count?
  7. Wish Papi had scored on Drew's hit.
  8. More WMP info: Nationals acquired outfielder Wily Mo Pena and cash from the Red Sox for a player to be named. The Red Sox are expected to go with Jacoby Ellsbury and then Bobby Kielty as the replacement for Pena, though they could have some interest in Craig Monroe. Pena may not last in Washington, but he's likely to have a 35-homer season in the majors before the end of the decade. He's still just 25 years old. Nook Logan, Ryan Langerhans and Ryan Church will lose at-bats to him.
  9. I will actually be pretty happy if someone else can catch Wake. I have always thought that Doug is very limited and we are kinda stuck with him because of the wake factor.
  10. I am watching mlb.TV premium - logging in from my laptop at work. Hopefully my boss does not come this way.
  11. Can he catch Knuckleball?
  12. Wow - that was close - almost a HR
  13. I am not sure I wish we could have kept Pena - Carlos that is. Youk historically cools down after hot start.
  14. IMO Youk should have been traded when his stock was high.
  15. WMP traded to the Nats - please see the WMP thread
  16. Per Roto Wily Mo Pena has been traded to the Nationals, according to the Boston Herald. So there was one team out there that wanted to take a chance on his power, and it comes as little surprise as it's the one run by Jim Bowden. Pena should get an extended look in a corner over the rest of the season, making him worth picking up in NL-only leagues. Nook Logan figures to lose playing time, with Ryan Church moving to center
  17. Do not look at the offensive stats only - consider his poor defense and Mirabelli might be able to beat him in a 100 mt. sprint.
  18. Yankees are going through the same cycle as last time. The bats got hot and they cut the division lead and the bats got cold again. I am not that impressed by Pettitte or Mussina since the AS break. They have been winning against teams with weak offences - and they have looked far from dominant. Meanwhile Wang, Clemens and Hughes have shown serious inconsistencies. If they have to use the next line of starting pitchers ( Kirstens, Igawa, Desalvo) - they might as well forfeit the game. I do think that they fixed huge bullpen holes with Joba and Edwar - but Mo has regressed back to April. If the Yankees take the AL east or make the playoffs their bats will have to carry them till October - we will see if they can do that. Even if the Yankees make the play-offs I will be shocked if the Yankees win any playoff series with this starting rotation.
  19. If Kenny asked for both MDC and this kid along with WMP - that was way too much. But in my opinion Theo should have pulled the trigger if MDC was not involved in the Dye deal and shut Papi down till mid September.
  20. If this guy falls apart - the Dye trade will be second guessed for a long time.
  21. Looks like Ellsbury - and not Kielty will replace WMP for the second game on Friday. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2007/08/buchholz_to_pit.html This is an interesting development - Kielty can exercise an out clause if he wants.
  22. Where are the posters ? 6-3 Sox
