  1. I don't know if they had a bait - for some reason they were ready to record the call. Clemens was well prepped for the call. He pressed his trainer but remained quite to the question ' What could I have done'. Just stating facts - merely playing the phone call tells me that Clemens was trying to use it to his advantage. I don't see how Mcnamee was baiting Clemens into anything with the phone call. I don't think he knew that the call was recorded till the news conference. As usual - feel free to draw your own conclusion from facts - this is America. I have seen in the past that the justice system and public opinion irrationaly base the decision on trivial parameters like how a person dresses up in courtroom or is he well groomed. People make their judgement if someone is remorsefull from 'did he cry on camera' or someone if telling the truth by 'did he shout enough and looked angry at his accusitions?' I don't get it - but that's the way it is.
  2. Clemens of course. It is perfectly legal to record a conversation if you are receiving a call - but illegal if you initiate the call - go figure.
  3. Dropped call commercial between Pettitte and Clemens: Clemens : Andy - I heard this ******* Mcnamee is telling the truth - what do you think we should do? Dropped call: Andy: Roger - I feel guilty about taking the HGH - I think I am gonna come clean. I think you should do that also. Clemens : Yeah - I was so mad I was speechless too - let's just deny everything and sue his ass.
  4. Mcnamee fights over the taped conversation: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/01/08/2008-01-08_brian_mcnamees_lawyers_demand_release_of.html
  5. You know about the second shooter - have you heard of the second tape and why Raja won't talk about it? http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/01/08/2008-01-08_brian_mcnamees_lawyers_demand_release_of.html
  6. The lawsuit story broke early morning - I am not gonna hold that against him for not including it in his report.
  7. Different links - too lazy to put them seperately. Feel free to read, draw your own conclusions and discuss. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/01/07/2008-01-07_exfbi_agent_in_operation_equine_says_rog.html http://www.nypost.com/seven/01062008/sports/yankees/rogers_preemptive_strike_149153.htm

  9. If I understand Rogers ego ( and I hardly know him so likely I am wrong) - the answer is absolutely yes. He would rather go down on flames than admit that he used steroids. From a legal standpoint though - I think this is different than the Palmero case. Palmero was an idiot - he should not have said what he said in Congress knowing fully well that he has failed drug test. In Rogers case - this will be extremely difficult to bring a perjury case against him if he has not failed a drug test or he was smart enough to buy roids on cash unlike other boneheads who has left a money trail. I think he is betting that all will come down to public perception in this case. Initial verdict in public court is he is guilty and if he stands strong with his interviews and lawsuits - he thinks it will eventually change. The only way I will change my opinion about Roger is if he ever takes a lie detector test(yeah I know they are not full proof ). Can't wait to see the buzzar go when he says ' God - I had no idea Andy was doing those HGH stuffs'.
  10. My favourite part ( don't have the exact quote) - ' You would think I would get some respect for my 25 years service in public'. uh - who are we talking about here - Mahatma Gandhi? He is one of the overpaid ballplayers - that means the people will fave complete faith in whatever crap he says?
  11. Why are the Yankee fans supporting this liar as if their life depends on it? Is that because they believe him or they have faith in 'innocent till proven guilty' or they just are in denial that their 'dynasty' is so tainted now.
  12. Inspired by: "You could not lie? How hard is it to lie?" - former Yankee George Costanza.
  13. He is getting it done in two weeks for the past 2 months already.
  14. No Santana news in a week? That's a shame. Hank is back after the holidays
  15. At this point - I can't take any of these reports seriously any longer.
  16. Agreed - but chances are that you might get 3-4 good years and 1-2 championship before that happens. I am just disputing your proclamation that Hughes will be the best pitcher in baseball in 4 years. In principle if I were a Yankee fan - I will not give up my prospects + $20 million per year for Santana. As a Red Sox fan - however I am hoping that Hank will do just that.
  17. That is not a given by any means - you are completely speculating here. He may be out of the league also by that time.
  18. Hope everbody had a great Christmas - back to Santana talk..
  19. I was trying to play Tony Kornheizer of pardon the interuption - no offence intended.
  20. I don't know - you are the stat-boy. From visual evidence - he is pretty good in Fenway - and is probably not the worst outside Fenway. Unfortunately - Power is not very easy to find - hopefully Anderson and Lowrie can replace him. It will be quite hard and more expensive probably replacing Manny's bat through trade or free agency. Thought this latino is a pure head case - he also happens to be one of the best right handed hitters of our time - and without him David Ortiz is not the same - again visual evidence from last year. That said - I have been concerned with his injuries - just don't see it how it is easy to replace him.
  21. And he might s*** the bed in AL.
  22. You guys should see the way Yankee fans believe in Clemens in their message board - almost fundamentally.
