  1. I'm neither for or against WMP! I do feel, as most of you do, that there is a lot of potential there, but is he willing to work as hard as Ortiz! If you look at his career stats there is a glimmer of hope! As to say will he ever put up the numbers that Papi has, well that is an definite no! I would love to see this guy hitting more and striking out way less, but for his career in 1124 ABs he K'ed 387 times! I mean playing in Cincy with Dunn must've had an affect on him!
  2. I know this! I was talking about this upcoming series, next weekend
  3. I think that pretty well sums up a lot, but don't forget Wakefield in the mix!
  4. I think that after last night, with the history that was made last night, is going to be good! I don't wanna get my hopes up, but I really feel that this year is going to be one that is hard fought and come out in the Sox favor! October? I think is in the near future
  5. It's really unnerving when this guy steps into the box! I like Wily Mo, but if you cant lay off of off speed pitches out of the zone, then you need to work a little harder over the off season! He did put on a show during spring training! Something needs to be done! If he doesn't step up, then I think the Sox will shop him around and see what they can get!
  6. I still say it was too close of a series! 21-17, yeah we had good starting pitching, but the bullpen I must say stepped it up! It's gonna be a good year!
  7. Well, It's still pretty early in the season to say, but the Sox really played some good baseball. I have to give credit to the Yanks for making a good series of it they were only outscored 21-17! I am not gonna get my hopes up though, there's still a lot of baseball left.
  8. The MOST amazing! You might wanna rethink that one! Consider the fact that you are a Yankees fan, but the last game of the 04 ALCS was the most AMAZING comeback at the stadium. Even my ex-fiance admitted that and she is a Yankees fan. It's gonna be a good series. For Boston it's about pride because of what happened last year when they got swept. I'm setting my tivo for the two games they are showing down here.
  9. I would like to know what program you are using.
  10. Yeah, I knew that but as I was typing some said Walker and I typed it and didn't realize it until you said something
  11. Greetings from Vienna, West Virginia! Glad to have a person on here who is from the sister city!
  12. Damn, thats too funny! I just checked out that link thank you for the refresher! I think I chose that name because Kevin Romine used to wear it when he played for Boston! Anyhow, I think I will use this one from now on, unless I get really bored and decide to just run both of them!
  13. Just a little 411, Brendan "Black" Donnelly pitched in this town in '94 for the Ohio Valley Redcoats, I guess he got booed for striking out a girl that came up to bat against him! Great stuff!
  14. I don't have mlb.tv! I have thought about it, but looking at how many posts I have posted tells me one thing, I'm not on the internet enough to make a purchase like that! Lol! One thing I do really enjoy about this site is all the knowledge and input you get from other Red Sox fans! I've been to several major league games in different cities, and no one knows baseball, numbers and cold-facts, like the Sox fans!
  15. I hate ARod, but he is a very good player, and thus far having a monster season! I really think that during last season he was considering his options, if he continues to put up the numbers that he has so far this season, whether they win it all or not, he will stay in NY! I don't think he has earned his pinstripes yet, but he is getting pretty close! Ok, so about tonights starter, Mr. Tavarez. I hope and pray that he has a good game tonight! I mean 9.00 ERA is a little nauseating! Toronto's lineup, though not like the Yankees by any means, is pretty good! Guess we'll see come game time!
  16. I think you could be right! It's still very early in the season! Wait until the end, I believe there will be a huge difference!
  17. well, if I had gotten dish network I would get NESN! So, I do believe there is a switch coming in the very very near future! As of right now I listen to the games on redsox.com!
  18. We'll see how is next start on Thursday goes! He's going up against Halladay ! Even though Halladay is 8-7 with a 4.60 ERA in 27 appearances against the Sox! Maybe Tavarez can pull a win out of his hat!
  19. Ok, but for Christ's sake a starter. I understand that it's still early in the year, but come on this guy sucks bad!
  20. This kid is pitching incredibly. I don't think we have anything to worry about! His next start will be a "w" and the Sox bats will wake up when he is on the mound. There is only so much a pitcher can do to keep his team in the game! But the Sox bats will wake up!
  21. It just baffles my mind to no extent how Tavarez is a #5 starter. I mean we all saw how the end of last year went and not to mention 2004 when he was with the Cards. This guy literally doesn't have a clue when he is out on the mound. I'd say it's time to call up Hansack! He is, like everyone on has been saying, tearing up the minor, thus far. Send Tavarez to the MINORS!!!
  22. I was previously on this site under a different name, unfortunately I forgot it so I had to make a new handle! I have been a Sox fan for 11 years now, and can say that I wouldn't change anything about it! Bear with me, while I get my posts backup to where they once were. Oh and by the way, I have moved back to West Virginia so it's harder for me to watch the games down here! The cable company does not provide NESN! ********!! Go Sox! Ryan
  23. Apart from saying which team sucks and which team is better, I am a Red Sox fan have been for many years now, you can never count the Yankees out. I am by no means taking up for them, but I am saying that they may start off slow, but their end is always better than their beginning. The Sox are gonna need dominate pitching performances by the starting rotation and not to mention the "bullpen." Apart from Papelbon who has been stellar thus far, the bullpen needs to stay focused and hungry! It's going to be a great series and an even better year if the Sox can continue to do what they do at the beginning of the year! Go Sox! Ryan
  24. apart from a new relief pitcher, how about someone to replace tavarez as a starter
