The message was sent at the wrong time. How do you put one of the best hitters in the history of baseball in the 8-hole when your down 2-1 in a 5-game series? The message didnt fail. Hell, it may have been recieved just fine. But it was clearly sent at the wrong time. If it was done mid-season, thats the right time, not in a win or go home playoff game.
