You know, as much as I don't mind umps expanding or shrinking the k-zone, the rules do state that the zone is width of the plate from the knees to the top of the letters, with depth, so a pitch that crosses the plate is a strike. Now, from the official rules, there really are no "exceptions" Umps have been seen more as an art when it really should be a science. I agree that it might add to the game having varying strikezones, and the fact that it has been that way since the start, but thats not what the official rules say. That is the reason I like the idea of actually using Questec, with Umps, to accurately call a game. People might not like the game being that accurate, but I think in today's age, and the way the game is becoming more of a science, technology should be used.
