  1. Yea hooters is, their food really sucks. The atmosphere is good though. The best wings I've had in Boston, other than my own, are from Wing-It.
  2. Wow. This Fox opening world series "show" is soooo corny.
  3. I wish there was a hooters around Boston, or anywhere in Mass for that matter.
  4. I don't think they will pitch him on 3 days rest.
  5. Of course, but the point is there isn't anything suggesting he can't perform just as well on 3 days rest. Its common practice using #1 starters on 3 days rest in the playoffs. My preference would be to use him 3 times and not use Lester. I think that would give us the best chance of winning. He is a better pitcher than Lester. He has proven he can pitch well on 3 days rest. Whats to suggest that its a bad move? I admit Farrell and Tito know far more than I do about Beckett, his healthy, etc. But he was VERY strong in game 5 against the Guardians. Whats to suggest that he would have done significantly worse on 1 day less rest? He certainly didn't say anything along the lines of him not feeling like he could pitch on 3 days rest. The truth is its all speculation. Some want him to pitch 3 games, some want him to pitch 2. Its pure opinion. There really isn't any way to prove which is better. Beckett has done it in the past, but as you have said, that is a small sample size. But I guess a small sample size that suggests one thing is better than nothing that suggest the other... I'd say if Beckett feels strong enough to pitch on 3 days rest, do it. If he doesn't, don't. Either way, lets just win.
  6. Because he has proven in the past that he can pitch on 3 days rest and dominate. Because he is our best pitcher in baseball, and he is already one of the best big-game pitchers of all-time. What more do you need?
  7. I'm not saying that I think Tito will pitch Beckett in 3 games, I'm saying that I WANT Beckett to pitch in 3 games. I think that is the best move.
  8. Why not? He's been successful doing it before. It's fairly common for strong Aces to go 3 games in the playoffs. It gives us a better chance at winning.
  9. Wakefield isn't on the Roster for the World Series. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20071023&content_id=2279512&vkey=ps2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb ... Beckett should pitch 3 games ...
  10. Edited, I meant "would" not "wouldn't"
  11. So your telling me that if we are down 0-3 and facing elimination, you don't want Beckett on the mound? Wow.
  12. If we go 1-2 (or worse 0-3), I would like to see Beckett in game 4 and 7. If we go 2-1, then game 5.
  13. Are You kidding me! They are still selling that junk.
  14. Yea. I must admit that I called JD Drew's signing a bust/bad move, but it still is too early to make that statement. We'll just have to wait and see if Dice-K, Drew, and Lugo end up being worth the money we invested in them or not.
  15. You don't, you only need to give him $14 million for that year. Hopefully next year he will performer closer to what a $14 million investment should be. Of course our expectations for Dice-K are/were high, but it's his first year in the MLB. You gotta give him some time to adjust. Beckett needed a year just to adjust from the NL to the AL. Dice-K needs to adjust from Japan to the MLB. Thats a big transition for a pitcher. I expect him to improve a lot, just like Beckett did.
  16. Dice-K gave us a chance to win. We won. Thats all I asked for and he delivered. Yes, I'd love it if next year he become the Ace he is supposed to be. But I can't complain about him. He won 16 games in his first season in America and helped us get to the WS.
  17. WHOO!!! I'm glad I was wrong about Pedroia, Drew, Matsuzaka, etc throughout the season. This is awesome.
  18. Yes, I do complain a lot, I'll admit it. I've been trying to really limit it. I've been on and off the boards, but I've always followed the sox closely. I have tended to vent a lot on these boards, and as I said, I'm trying not to do that anymore. I'm not saying you don't have a reason to dislike me, be annoyed with me. I probably have been pretty annoying around here. I'm a perfectionist and even little things can annoying me, I'm trying not to vent frustration on these boards anymore though. But don't say I don't follow the team or I'm not a real fan, because thats simply not true. But I apologize for annoying rants/comments.
  19. I'll be the first to admit I sometimes say stupid s*** when I'm pissed, etc.
  20. I say a lot of s*** when I'm upset. I never stopped following this team this season. Anyways, whatever. I'm so jealous you were at the game. I walk over to Fenway right as we finished the ninth. What a crazy time!
  21. Dude, I just took time off from the boards. I've supported this team 100%. I didn't necessarily support everyone on the team all the time, but I never walked away from the team... I just didn't feel like complaining on the boards when we had rough spots.
  22. THIS IS SOOO AWESOME!!! Can you actually get tickets before the game at Fenway, like during the regular season? I heard some people talking about this and I'm considering trying to get tickets for game one if possible. If it is possible, does anyone know a rough idea of what the tickets would cost? The Champaign tastes good in Boston. Sorry Cleveland, but it's an exclusive party and your not invited!
  23. GAME OVAH!!!! WORLD SERIES HERE WE COME!!!!
