  7. Posada grounds into a DP, 4-2, 2 down, no one on.
  8. God damnit, Fernando Rodney is struggling to close out the Det-Yanks game. Now 4-1 with runners on the corners and no outs.
  9. And Mike Lowell's now on 3rd after Grady dives for a ball he can't reach.
  10. JASON BAY!!!!! HEY YAH!!!!!!!! 3-0 Sox!!!!!
  11. Man. 1 down. Come on Bay. Get it down.
  12. Wake gives us 7 shutdown innings tonight. Awesome.
  13. Jacoby has about 1 gazillion times more valuable so far than Papi. A+ defense, A+ speed, and he is starting to hit, has a HR, and is getting on base.
  14. Still have zero confidence in him...
  15. DP to end the inning isn't cashing in on breaks....
  16. 2 breaks so far this inning, now lets cash in on them.
  17. Well here is a little drama. Wedge gets tossed.
  18. Jacoby, please explain how a #4 starter with a 2.45 era, 2-1, 1.05 whip isn't a good pitcher. Career 180 - 158, 4.31era, 1919K, who averages 173 innings a season. How is that not awesome for a #4 guy? I found some stats, in 2006, the MLB average era of #4 starters was 5.10. According to this cool article I found: http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/how-good-is-your-4-starter/ A pitcher with a career era of 4.31 can considered as good as a #2 starter. Yes, that means Wakefield, in you're average MLB team, would be the 2nd or 3rd best pitcher. For us, he is our 4th/5th best. Whats the problem?
  19. I don't get where all this talk about us needing to bolster up our running game is coming from. The Patriots were 6th in the league in rushing yards per carry (4.4). They were also 6th in total rushing yards gained (2,278). That was without Brady. Now, with Brady back, and with the addition of Taylor, how can anyone think we can't be at least as productive? Seriously people, do your research. The Patriots were ranked 13th in rushing yds/carry (4.1) and obviously had far fewer total yards, ranked 13th (1849). Consider that the offense was often in the shotgun and very pass happy and you will see just how much our running game improved in 08. The biggest hole we had last year (besides Brady and the injuries) was the secondary. That was addressed. We didn't get much pressure on the QB, not because of our front 7 personnel, but because of 1. injuries (AD gone) and 2. The secondary. Now that BB has corners that can actually cover 1 on 1, expect to see a ton more exotic blitzing schemes. That's EXACTLY what happened towards the second half of last season, when Wilhite and Weatley were playing fairly well, and we were able to put a lot more pressure on QBs. I also don't see why we shouldn't expect Brady to come out firing. It's not like Manning last year, were he missed the preseason and had pretty much no rehab time. He isn't a QB that is going to go running all over the place, he's a pocket passer. After all these years, I think we should trust BB judgment...
