  1. You are missing Youkilis, Cameron, and Ellsbury for the season (most likely). You're gonna be missing Pedroia for at least 2 weeks and probably a whole lot more than that. You're also playing without Varitek for the next few weeks and are playing with a subpar Beckett and a mediocre Lackey. The fact the sox are only 7 games back in the L column of NYY is amazing. You guys might point at all the head to heads, but it's pretty rough to expect a team to sweep the head to heads. Even if they win each series, they only gain 1 game in the standings per series. They need sweeps, and without the core of their lineup, it is near impossible
  2. Lots of movement today... Zach McAllister was formally sent to Cleveland to complete the Kearns deal. Good luck kid. Jason Hirsch headed off to the DL and probably out of the org after this season. That created a vacuum within the system... Hector Noesi and DJ Mitchell have moved from AA to AAA Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances have moved from A+ to AA Sean Black and Josh Romanski have moved from A to A+ Mike Gipson and Shane Greene have moved from SI to A
  3. Hall is definitely playing his way back into a starting role next yr
  4. So the rest of the game gets played and the Yankee offense continues to hit. Good to see after Felix shut us down
  5. Game delayed, probably going to be called, IMO. CC is gonna win his 17th and his ERA is down to 3.02. He's got 8 more starts left to the season, very good chance he wins 20, and probably more in the 22 range.
  6. They should just call this game. It's POURING, the game is official and the Yankees are up 5 against the worst offense in baseball
  7. Intentional walk of Tex to get to Cano? BAD IDEA! Grand Slam Robby Cano
  8. Official game, Yankees up 1-0.
  9. He's definitely a prospect. Thing is, I see him as a 2b, and the sox dont need help there. He'll probably be more of a utility guy, though, IMO
  10. I am wondering if we do what we did that last time with Javy. Skip him, put him in the pen for a game and get him back into the rotation. Worked great the last time, hopefully it works this time around. BTW, very excited to see Nova. Here are the AAA numbers... 12-3 145IP 135H 46ER 48BB 115K 1.7GO/AO, 2.86ERA 1.26WHIP 7.1K/9IP Solid numbers and continuing to improve significantly since May. He's always had very solid stuff, but his approach has been a problem. In previous seasons, he has pitched more to contact than going for the strikeout. Now, he's learning to continue to pitch to contact at times, but he is starting to learn how to put away hitters when needed. He isnt a finished product, but he should be ready for the bigs at this point. He very well could be our 5th starter next season
  11. This is exactly what happened at the beginning of the yr. Also, it looks like the Yankees might be removing him from the rotation. Ivan Nova was called up and will start tomorrow night. And Moseley is staying in the rotation as well.
  12. Montero went 2 for 5 with his 16th homer last night. OPS up to .849
  13. They arent taking any chances
  14. Aj is gonna be the #4
  15. Hellickson looks like a good young pitcher
  16. You know the ironic thing about this season? Wakefield's been pretty healthy...
  17. http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2010/08/20/full-scouting-report-dellin-betances/ 2 in a row from Piliere. He is in Tampa for a short time and got to see probably our two best pitching prospects. He likens Betances to a young Beckett. Not bad, IMO. And btw, both Banuelos and Betances were promoted to AA Trenton today The Yankees did send off Zach McAllister to the Guardians today to complete the Kearns deal. I liked him as a prospect, but he was going nowhere in this organization. Good luck, and he will probably start for the Guardians come next season
  18. I highly doubt they bring him back unless he is feeling ZERO soreness. Also, pain enough to put him on the DL is no good. They really are being twofaced when they say they are putting him on the DL but no further damage could have been done. If the bone is hurting, then you could be doing damage to it, especially when that bone has a tenuous blood supply
  19. 4 of his last 5 starts had been excellent
  20. Berkman to the DL, Eduardo Nunez up to the big club
