  1. Joba hit 100 in his last appearance. He'll be in the Bronx within a week
  2. He has walked 10 batters, allowed 7 hits and has an ERA over 10 in his last 10 games. He's lost
  3. There might be a market, but you arent getting the players you'd want back. There was a market for Youkilis, who was one yr removed from playing well. That market sucked.
  4. 3.5 out of the wild card isnt much. But when you are behind a ton of teams, it makes it hard
  5. vj, the sox have converted Bard back to middle relief in the minors and he is still the soft throwing juggs machine. He's completely lost
  6. They might "gamble" but right now, there are two things that hurt the sox. Beckett is paid $16 mil per yr and he is sucking ass right now. The problem is, when a player is performing, he is worth the most and you dont want to move him. When a player is struggling, you want to trade him and everyone wants to shortchange you. It's the way it is. And neither Beckett nor Lester have helped you this month
  7. This offense went dead and we've had Cody Eppley on the mound in walkoff fashion twice. There is no f***ing way Phelps should have been pulled. He's stretched out and could have gone 5-6 innings if need be. Instead, we had a righty sidewinder on the hill with a runner on 2nd facing a switch hitter. Just a stupid move and another example that good enough pitching and shrewd managing can hand Girardi his lunch. Phelps was dominant, he shouldnt have been pulled
  8. Oakland is starting to get offense as well. They are the very definition of pesky.
  9. Going to the left coast without a day off has f***ed us something fierce
  10. In order to hit .400, your BABIP has to be monstrous
  11. The only guy I think might be able to do it is Trout. You need speed, contact, a good eye and some power
  12. I cannot believe how far Lester has fallen
  13. the sox got peanuts for Youkilis. They should get something for Lester, but you really think he is gonna bring an ace haul back when he is pitching to a 5+ ERA and only going 5 innings?
  14. No, they should get something, but he obviously would be dealt 50 cents on the dollar.
  15. Lester's delivery used to be a little tighter, now that I look at it. He's showing the ball way earlier than he used to.
  16. The thing is, Lester will eventually be dealt, he'll be labelled a malcontent and then go on to throw up Cy Young numbers in his new setting. But just like with Youk, they might have to deal him. He's got nothing, and he looks afraid up there.
  17. BABIP is important when you are looking at a pitcher and saying that the numbers arent really following the stuff. Right now, Lester's stuff sucks. He isnt throwing as hard as usual, his curve is loopy and his cutter is staying on one plane.
  18. Lester is already getting booed
  19. just got back from an insane week. Just in time to unpack and watch some ball. And I see I tuned in at the right time. Lester needs a change of scenery
  20. He's gone on 3 rehab assignments and every time he plays, it swells up and becomes painful. They should have gone this route after the second setback
  21. Right now, we are running and hiding with the division. The sox, rangers and angels are really the only teams offensively capable of breaching our starting pitching and none of the above teams are capable of shutting us down. For the first time since 2009, I think I see a team capable of winning it all. Unfortunately, it's mid July. I may be singing another tune come October if we go into the shitter. Enjoy the week guys, I will be on vaca
  22. There's gonna be those who toe the line, step over it, dance around it and some that just push right through it. It's the ebb and the flow of a good board, it happens. I liked pumps, mostly since he went right for conspiracy and also because he's a retired doc. But it happens. There will be others that some of us like who move on and others who we dislike that will be pushed out as well.
