  1. Craig Hansen should be banished to the minors for 2007.
  2. Touche.
  3. I was a pretty big knicks fan before I kinda stopped watching the NBA and nobody ever gave me a feeling that my team had no chance like Jordan. Even with Ewing and a perennial 50 win team, the knicks had ZERO chance against Jordan. I have never felt that way about one athlete in any sport. he was the only one.
  4. I would assume MLB.tv is the way to go. That is the way I am going to have to go when I move back to enemy territory.
  5. that is one thing I love about these 2 japanese pitchers. They dont care if they walk you, they will not give in. They arent necessarily wild.
  6. no, not really. He is being worked for his walks. Yeah, he is a little bit wild. But there is a big difference between wildness and being worked. The Reds are working him and Matsuzaka is just missing for the most part.
  7. From what I see now, he is throwing 88-91 mph fastball, a 75 mph slider and a 66mph change/curve thing that is really filthy. More of a Ted Lilly type with better stuff.
  8. what I find amazing is Jordan wins 3 in a row. Takes 2 yrs off essentially and then wins 3 in a row again. With the competition in the 90s being what it was vs what Wilt faced, Jordan was a man among men while Wilt was a man among boys. Jordan was unbelievable.
  9. After watching his first 2 starts, I was saying that his stuff is filthy and his track record said that his command was going to be there. Igawa is starting to prove me right. Igawa's numbers are looking nice (1ER, 4H in last 12IP as well as 19K in 16IP), then again ST numbers dont mean all that much. His control has improved considerably and the heater is starting to creep into the 90s (sitting at 90-91 today). He still is a work in progress as he still has trouble locating in certain innings, but he is looking pretty solid lately. If he can keep this up, he will be nice to have around while our staff is dropping like flies.
  10. Lester never had Hughes velocity or command.
  11. thing is, why deal Pineiro if he is pitching well. Hell, the sox owe it to themselves to see what he can do as their middle relief is terrible on paper. If they deal him and he becomes the closer in Cincy, they will regret it. Even though I think Pineiro is terrible and will suck, the sox should see what they have. I have been wrong (many times ) before.
  12. I am being realistic. I dont think Betances touches the majors, but he will be considered. I think Chamberlain or Kennedy certainly could. Both are college players, something Hughes is not. And both will start one level higher than Hughes did in his first full yr. Chamberlain and Kennedy are both going to start in High A Tampa with both being slated for midseason callups to Trenton if they pitch well. If everything goes well with those two, they will start in Scranton next season.
  13. your sig is hilarious, you know you can place it in your sig like this. http://nomaas.org/images/kaplerftl.gif
  14. http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=190885 I thought you couldnt deal a player who was signed as a FA until June 15th.
  15. AMEN brother.
  16. Gom, the guy we saw in the broadcasts on the YES channel is not the guy he will become. i too was a bit perturbed by his lack of velocity, but the only game saw of him was his first one. I am reading reports that his last ST game, he was hitting 91-93 and in his first AAA ST game he was in the 94-95 range which is his max. It was ST, his velocity wasnt there when we saw him. I am interested in seeing him this yr. And if you look at his numbers, they are out of this world. Dont sell him short.
  17. I hear ya. Hence why they are being very cautious with him.
  18. btw, a case could be made that Hansack should be your 5th.
  19. Texas was my champ
  20. btw, if anyone else goes down, expect Ohlendorf to be the next one chosen. He is the one most ready for the bigs as he threw 180 innings in AA last yr. He is the only one who is stretched out enough to handle a full season +.
  21. absolutely true. out of the gate, you rotation looks better. In May, thing will be totally different. And come July someone may have decided edge when Clemens decides to pitch.
