  1. I know this is a sox thread, but I am seriously in disbelief. It was a f***in laser.
  2. ARod with another tater, Giambino finds a gap for a double. We are opening up a can on Possum.
  3. btw, ARod just hit another homer.
  4. PERFECT EXAMPLE HERE. IF RIOS HITS A HOMERUN, ALL RUNS ARE UNEARNED.
  5. not true either. Depends on the error. A throwing error is a difference of a base. An error where a runner would have been out would make every subsequent run unearned. For example. 1. There are 2 outs and Lugo hits a chopper to SS that gets bobbled. Lugo reaches. Youks hits a homerun the next pitch. BOTH runs are unearned. 2. There are 2 outs, Lugo singles. He goes to steal second and Zaun throws the ball into CF. Lugo goes to 3rd. Youkilis hits a homerun. BOTH runs are EARNED. The difference is that without the error in the first instance the inning is over. In the second instance, Lugo is on 2nd. Now for an advanced instance. Lugo is on 1st, 1 out. He goes to steal second and the catcher throws it into CF. Lugo moves to 3rd. Youkilis hits a sac fly and then Papi K's. That run is UNEARNED because without the error, Lugo is on 2nd when youkilis hits the flyball and doesnt score. Then Papi K's and the inning would have ended without a run scoring.
  6. BTW, Nieves dislocated his thumb last night and stayed in. What a f***in stud.
  7. Igawa getting squeezed inside already. Baldelli with the weak popup to 2b, 1 down.
  8. Leadoff single wasted. Bottom 1, 0-0.
  9. As much as you guys could have rubbed it in our faces, you held back. You may have acknowledged our injuries and the fact that we'll be a different team and it is early, but either way. It is appreciated.
  10. no Glaus and no Johnson. I expect the kid to have a good debut.
  11. very, very much so. It is about time. I dont expect this kid to dominate like he has in the minors, but he should at least be good for 6IP a night and a mid 4's ERA. And what I love about this is that Cashman has been quoted as saying, once Hughes comes up, he isnt going back down.
  12. I am real excited about this kid.
  13. Phil Hughes will start on Thursday vs the Blue Jays and will start Karstens on Friday vs the Red Sox. I am happy about this.
  14. I think Chase Wright has the stuff to be a back of the rotation starter. He just isnt even close to being ready yet. We have 5 or 6 guys who are more ready with a better arsenal than he is. But none of them are on the 40 man roster. Chase was.
  15. and then you'll use the same argument next season as well.
  16. I know he is. Some of this is frustration but look at how he got into that mess. Papi leading off, 4 run lead. I do not like Myers in this spot because you are more concerned with walking him than you are getting him out. In a close game with Papi up in a big spot, Myers could always go at him and if he walks him, he walks him. A 4 run lead in the 8th and Papi leading off changes how you pitch to him and negates your primary lefty specialist. I would not have used Vizcaino especially after he got bombed against the Guardians the day before. In that spot, I would have kept Proctor in after he threw 8 pitches to bail Pettitte out and then shut him down for the rest of the series. If no to Proctor, then I'd use Bruney who has been one of our best relievers to this point. If not Bruney, then Henn who has been very good especially vs the lefties. In no way do I bring in the guy with the biggest control problem in our pen into a game where a walk is killer.
  17. Mariano shares blame but one must think of something. #1- Mo has not been used enough. #2- Mo is coming off an awful outing in OAK Considering those 2 things, Mo should have been used once in the Cleveland series to get his location back. A 4 day break after losing to Marco f***ing Scutaro is inexcuseable. Also, knowing that Mo's location is a bit off and his elbow is a ticking time bomb, you should avoid bringing him in with runners on or bringing him in for more than 1 inning. We already went over that game, but it wasnt just his bullpen he f***ed with. No Giambi late because of a pinch runner, no Phelps to finish the game. Bad news all around.
  18. /musictomyears.
