  1. Its called a testicular rupture. I've seen 2 patients with those. One was an open rupture. I could live without seeing one of those again.
  2. I wouldnt call Gonzalez a big defensive upgrade anymore. He's lost a TON of range due to his knee injuries. His hands are as slick as ever, and his arm is still solid, but a shortstop makes his bacon on range and he doesnt have it. Maybe he needs to do what Jeter did and go to Athlete's Performance in the offseason, cause if he could regain what he was for you guys 3 yrs ago, he'd be really useful
  3. you only point and laugh because you have nothing original to offer. It seems your entire existence now is to flame me, which flatters me. But at the same time, shows that you, in fact, have no life.
  4. This is a completely stupid comment and shows an absolute lack of the basic understanding of player development
  5. the sox have had a terrible eye for INTL talent. They have typically overpaid for players who dont pan out in the INTL forum. Their biggest conquests have been in the draft, which is the exact opposite for NY
  6. Jesus christ you are dull. All we have is the rating. We have two guys with the same rating. I would assume you could consider them equal. Oh, and by the way, wanna know where the "once in a generation" glove comments came from? Theo and his mouthpieces in the Boston media. Nobody outside of them has made that comment. The only objective data from baseballamerica is the ranking
  7. The cost wont be really low. He'll likely cost as much, if not more than Strasburg
  8. I have heard 21 and 26. He was listed at 26 in the WBC, so that sounds about right
  9. Have you ever seen this kid play? I havent. All I can go off of are the scouting reports, which grade him as a speedy, all glove, no bat SS.
  10. Yep. Pena is an 80 out of 80 on the glove side, above average runner and below average contact and power. Sounds exactly similar
  11. cut the flaming lest you get into a war and end up suspended for a few days.
  12. Today isnt a good barometer. It has been known for some time now that Ortiz cannot get around on a good fastball, and Verlander's is the best in the business. That being said, he has fallen off the map since his solid June
  13. It is baffing. I understand day game after night game, but they are facing a Cy Young candidate in the heat of a pennant race with their best player suspended. This is not the time to send up the light lineup.
  14. David Ortiz is not getting DFAd. First of all, enough fans in NE are in love with the guy to overlook his numbers. Hell, even some of the toughest critics in sports on WEEI are standing behind this guy and his "supplement" usage. There is something different between Papi and the sox media and the sox fans. As long as he's doing something, he'll be staying in Boston. Also, the sox are on the hook for big money through 2010. So, even if it means less playing time this yr, it behooves them to see if he has anything left in the tank for 2010. If, come midseason 2010, he still sucks, then a DFA and a quiet ride into the sunset is in order. Nobody in their right mind would take his contract.
  15. Buchholz looks like everything is working. Mussina used to comment about these kind of days. 25% of your starts, you have everything working. 25% of your starts, you have nothing and anyone can beat you. The other 50%, you have something and need to gut out the win. Buchholz has the stuff to win when its on. He hasnt yet figured out how to win when he doesnt have everything working
  16. Today looks like another day for the yankees to pad their lead. Buch vs Verlander with the sox sending in the B squad, while we have CC going vs Snell in Seattle
  17. .824OPS at home .594OPS on the road
  18. June was 7 weeks ago. Since June.... .209/.250/.419 ---- .669OPS
  19. it always bothers me when a manager sits one of his best players vs an ace. Not to mention the Youk suspension
  20. the tigers being in first place has more to do with the s*** division than them actually being good. If Detroit were in the ALE, they'd be battling the Jays for 4th place
