  1. I think that’s the plan, to be honest. If Voit comes back and Torres continues to struggle, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Torres go down and Wade come up. That being said, the bats aren’t running on all cylinders yet, so you gotta keep running Torres out there and hope for the best.
  2. He was a good one in the Yanks minor league system.
  3. Voit set to return in 2 weeks fyi
  4. Once the bats truly heat up, this team is gonna be tough to beat. The bullpen is lights out. Taillon has been nails 2 of 3 starts. Cole is awesome. Montgomery has been far better than his ERA. German rebounded in his last start. Kluber is the one I’m concerned about as it seems he cannot go deep yet. Maybe he never will. He’s been awful in 2 starts and then was really solid in the other 2 before fading around the 75 pitch mark. He needs to show up and start to at least go a solid 5 or he’ll be the odd man out. I’m still really concerned about Torres. No power and outside of a 3 hit game two days ago, he’s been absent offensively. I’m wondering if he ends up getting sent down mid May if he’s still terrible
  5. You don’t punt on a good team. Too early to tell if the Sox are good. They’ve had a good month for sure. If they’re in line for a PO spot, I bet Henry forces them to add at the deadline
  6. The Sox are treating Whitlock like a starter. He’s getting ample rest between appearances. I wonder if he ends up being the regular piggybacker to Perez or Richards and eventually takes over for them if they continue their struggles.
  7. Stanton with a big day and Yanks win. Bats starting to warm up
  8. The biggest thing to come out of last night was German’s recovery. Nobody questions his stuff, but his toughness has been called into question. He got screwed a bit in the first by his defense then he locked it down the next 5 innings. If he can find it while our offense rebounds, he will be an asset
  9. Same lineup again today. Need it. Stanton is an auto out. Sanchez is an auto out. I’d sub our Frazier for Tauchman and run it back
  10. I’m at a loss for words
  11. Agreed. But they can’t hit. At least fire the hitting coach. Shows something!
  12. Boone brings in a guy who cannot find the zone chronically into a pivotal bases loaded situation. He sucks
  13. This offense f***ing blows
  14. 2 more base runners stranded by the “Whiff”en
  15. I don’t look gift horses in the mouth. Kluber’s velocity seems up a little today. We shall see if it holds.
  16. The problem with this team is the hitting approach for everyone is the exact same (sans Lemahieu and Judge). Pull the ball out of the park. Yanks are a RH hitting team playing in a park with a comically short RF wall and a very deep LCF gap and they’re trying to pull the ball out of the park. A 320 foot dunker in RF counts just as much as a 470 ft no doubter
  17. They will hit, but everyone is in a slump
  18. Taillon was lights out yet they pulled him after 80 pitches. Offense scored only 3 and couldn’t hit again
  19. And what are you gonna do? The team is built to rely on their power and the middle of their order. The middle of the order has a .150 BA and an OPS under .550
  20. Agreed. They just decided against using them. Infuriating
  21. You can’t win when you’ve only got two guys hitting. You just can’t.
  22. Not a single player had a hot start. Through 14 games, Judge and Lemahieu are right near their career OPS. Everyone else is WAY below. The only player who is hot is our backup catcher. That’s it. The offense will eventually hit, and when it does we will win. I only have 2 major qualms from the first 14 games. One is Torres and his overall horrendousness. If his bat doesn’t get back to 2019 levels, then we need to pull him from the lineup and at least ensure good D. The other is Kluber. I like his movement, but his stuff is down and his location has been off. He’s not a build type project, he’s a veteran who needs to be effective or move him along. Other than that, I expect Hicks and Stanton to hit. I do think Frazier will hit. Gio should hit. Judge will eventually get white hot as will Lemahieu. Just need to not fall too far behind while we wait
  23. We are a game and a half back of the Rays and Jays, who will ultimately be the real competition this year. The Sox have had a nice start for sure, but they’ve had everything go right for the most part and we all know it’s not gonna last. If we were 5 games back of the Jays, I’d be a little more concerned, but they’re struggling too
  24. They have the talent to win a World Series. They’re in last place 14 days in. They’re just lucky that the Rays or Jays haven’t separated themselves yet from the Yanks. The fact that it’s the Sox at the top is reassuring cause I know this team has the talent to surpass them. But Boone’s job is to get the most out of the talent on the teams and he has sucked at it
