  7. I forget which game it was, but Wakefield got hit in the ribs by a comebacker a while back. I assume that's what cracked the rib, unless it happened outside of baseball. All you can do for a cracked rib is wait until it is healed. I'm thinking Wake will be out for about 2-4 weeks.
  8. He obviously loves playing in front of the Fenway fans, where he has a 3.06 ERA, or something like that. Once he adjusts to playing on the road in the AL, he'll be a great pitcher. Nice signing by the Sox.
  9. I hope this performance by Redman doesn't cause Theo to pull the trigger on a trade for him.
  10. I'd do it in a heartbeat.
  11. Let's hope Beckett can keep the HR totals under 2 against this AAA ballclub.
  12. Harris sucked at the plate, but he was a likeable guy. With that said, I don't think any Red Sox fans will miss him too much.

  15. 2 Yankees and 0 Red Sox on that list. Good to see.
  16. This is one of the worst trade that I've seen in a while. Was the Reds front office high while making this deal?
  17. I'd drill him.
  18. There are a lot of people I know who would consider McCovey and Foxx to be the greatest first basemen ever.
  19. Because of the lack of voting for this round, I'm going to push the date to July 13th at 11:59pm. I want to at least get 5 votes for each round.
  20. BRACKET ONE Lou Gehrig (New York Yankees) vs Dolph Camilli (Brooklyn Dodgers) Willie McCovey (San Francisco Giants) vs Don Mattingly (New York Yankees) Jeff Bagwell (Houston Astros) vs Todd Helton (Colorado Rockies) Johnny Mize (St. Louis Cardinals) vs Rod Carew (Minnesota Twins) BRACKET TWO Jimmie Foxx (Philadelphia Athletics) vs Mark Grace (Chicago Cubs) vs Cecil Cooper (Milwaukee Brewers) Harmon Killebrew (Minnesota Twins) vs Andres Galarraga (Montreal Expos) Mark McGwire (Oakland Athletics) vs Keith Hernandez (St. Louis Cardinals) Ernie Banks (Chicago Cubs) vs Tony Perez (Cincinnati Reds) BRACKET THREE Eddie Murray (Baltimore Orioles) vs Gil Hodges (Brooklyn Dodgers) Dick Allen (Philadelphia Phillies) vs Wally Joyner (Kansas City Royals) vs Jim Thome (Cleveland Guardians) Frank Thomas (Chicago White Sox) vs Orlando Cepeda (San Francisco Giants) Roger Connor (New York Giants) vs Joe Judge (Washington Senators) BRACKET FOUR Hank Greenberg (Detroit Tigers) vs Fred McGriff (Atlanta Braves) Dan Brouthers (Buffalo Bisons) vs Mickey Vernon (Washington Senators) George Sisler (St. Louis Browns) vs Will Clark (Texas Rangers) Cap Anson (Chicago Cubs)vs Norm Cash (Detroit Tigers) vs Kent Hrbek (Minnesota Twins)
  21. Dougie's going deep tonight!
  22. Eddie Guardado could be pitching on one leg and he'd be better than anybody else in Cincy's bullpen.
  23. The Celtics will make a trade before the season starts, most likely including Wally Szczerbiak. Telfair will start at PG and Delonte will be the SG. I'm calling it right now.
  24. Voting for this round ends on July 8th at 11:59pm. BRACKET ONE Lou Gehrig (New York Yankees) vs Dolph Camilli (Brooklyn Dodgers) Willie McCovey (San Francisco Giants) vs Don Mattingly (New York Yankees) Jeff Bagwell (Houston Astros) vs Todd Helton (Colorado Rockies) Johnny Mize (St. Louis Cardinals) vs Rod Carew (Minnesota Twins) BRACKET TWO Jimmie Foxx (Philadelphia Athletics) vs Mark Grace (Chicago Cubs) vs Cecil Cooper (Milwaukee Brewers) Harmon Killebrew (Minnesota Twins) vs Andres Galarraga (Montreal Expos) Mark McGwire (Oakland Athletics) vs Keith Hernandez (St. Louis Cardinals) Ernie Banks (Chicago Cubs) vs Tony Perez (Cincinnati Reds) BRACKET THREE Eddie Murray (Baltimore Orioles) vs Gil Hodges (Brooklyn Dodgers) Dick Allen (Philadelphia Phillies) vs Wally Joyner (Kansas City Royals) vs Jim Thome (Cleveland Guardians) Frank Thomas (Chicago White Sox) vs Orlando Cepeda (San Francisco Giants) Roger Connor (New York Giants) vs Joe Judge (Washington Senators) BRACKET FOUR Hank Greenberg (Detroit Tigers) vs Fred McGriff (Atlanta Braves) Dan Brouthers (Buffalo Bisons) vs Mickey Vernon (Washington Senators) George Sisler (St. Louis Browns) vs Will Clark (Texas Rangers) Cap Anson (Chicago Cubs) vs Norm Cash (Detroit Tigers) vs Kent Hrbek (Minnesota Twins)
  25. Sounds like another Mark Blount/Adonal Foyle type contract to me.
