  1. The job of a pitcher is to not give up runs. (Can't believe this is starting up again)
  2. That's actually a solid argument, much better than "he doesn't get it done in the postseason." I'm curious, ORS, do you think Sabathia is an ace-caliber pitcher?
  3. I agree he hasn't pitched well in 25 October innings, my question is why are these 25 more important than the other 1500+, when one solid postseason can turn his numbers around so quickly?
  4. Sabathia's done it better the last three years over more innings, and you're not going to call him an ace. Awesome logic.
  5. I like Mr Crunchy too, just observing the similarities of the posting styles.
  6. You just acknowledged CC is the better overall pitcher, yet Beckett is an ace and CC is not?
  7. This guy is the Yankee fan version of Mr. Crunchy
  8. By simple logic, Sabathia is then an ace because he's been a superior pitcher to Beckett over the last three seasons.
  9. This is a complete joke though, because you're giving far too much credence to three specific innings and not looking at the entire body of work. CC's 256 innings in 2007 as a whole were excellent and he was a top 10 pitcher in all of baseball. CC's 256 innings in 2008 were tremendous and he was a top 10 pitcher in all of baseball. CC Sabathia is an ace. If you want to weight your argument based off of 18 innings over two seasons, that's your prerogative but it is an extremely flawed way of thinking.
  10. But the most important thing is knowing how to pitch with a lead, right?
  11. I disagree because the playoffs are far too small of a sample size to make any kind of snap judgments. Sabathia ias a top 10 pitcher in this league, and therefore should be considered an ace.
  12. I'd rather see Sobotka get Axe's minutes, to be honest.
  13. Burnett is a nice pitcher. Sabathia is an ace.
  14. LEARN TO USE THE QUOTE BUTTON
  15. He's always had a high WHIP, I really think he was hurt last year.
  16. lol quote function is hard
  17. Maybe having Lowell healthy last year could have made a difference? Drew? Why is Ortiz "what he is now"...maybe it's a good idea to see how his wrist responds to rest and rehab before making that claim? Why can we sweep the ones who struggled under the rug and only call attention to those who "overperformed"? I think it's fair to expect this team to be close to the same next season (better if they land Tex). Having a healthy Drew, Lowell, Ortiz, and Beckett will counter any regressions from Pedroia, Youkilis, and Lester.
  18. Career 3.80 ERA pitcher on the road, moving to the ALE? Call me apprehensive.
  19. Wagner was awful in AA last year.
  20. Where the f*** is a mod to ban his ass? JFC.
