Plus, let's face it - if Buchholz threw up the same line today against the Twins we'd all jizz in our pants.

    Also RE: defensive ineptitude - Mike Lowell is one of the worst defensive 3B in all of baseball this season and is sporting a tidy .318 OBP. He deserves a lion's share of the blame too.

    Moving Ortiz down in the order does nothing. If he can't hit in the 7th spot, what do you do then? If he can't hit in the 8th spot, what do you do then? The problem isn't where he's hitting, it's that he can't hit.

    But they aren't the biggest concern on this team. Why doesn't anyone recognize this? They are a convenient excuse to deflect from the actual problem with this team.

    i laugh at the Sox fans getting so defensive here - the Yankees are trending upward and the Sox are sputtering. Papelbon had this coming to him for weeks now - the writing was on the wall for sure to anyone who was willing to open their eyes. I didn't see him run on the field, but it sounds just like him. I've said it multiple times but I hope he enjoys going year to year with those contracts.
