Alot of you are saying that if Manny's bat is our biggest problem we will win the division. So let me throw a what if at you, and im not saying this will happen just what if. What if Manny continues to struggle.....and teams stop pitching to David Ortiz, mainly late in games. Because really, why would you pitch to the best clutch hitter in the game when Manny is hitting .250? Do you really think that equals us winning the division? Im not saying Manny won't turn it on, because I think he will eventually. But if he doesn't it could be a big problem. And I know it's early.

It is early, and maybe I am panicing a bit. But 9 games and no extra base hits just seems very odd for Manny. Hopefully he will break out sometime soon. Wasn't he hitting well over .400 in spring training?

What is the deal with Manny so far this year? I understand some people start out slow, but 9 games into the season and he doesn't have a homer I don't think he has even came close to getting one. 7 for 32 with no extra base hits and 11 K's. Is Manny past his prime? Or is he still upset about being in Boston? Manny usually starts our rather quickly, but this year he has looked horrible. If he doesn't pick up the pace David Ortiz is going to get nothing to hit. Here are his numbers fromt he past Aprils. Proving my point that this is not a normal start for Manny. I got Renteria in the 19th round of my draft and the guy is absolutely tearing the cover off the ball I think he is around 10 RBI already and hitting well over .300. I guess after last year people thought he was overrated. Another sleeper I picked up was Preston Wilson, took him in the 21st round, .300, 4 HR, 7 RBI. And last but not least, one of my favorite non Red Sox Orlando Cabrera. I actually got this guy in like the 24th round, he has 2 HR, 2 SB, is hitting like .350 and scoring alot of runs. Not sure if these guys will keep it up...but there playing good now and I got them cheap.

I had forgot about how bad Ortiz was hitting when he first came to Boston (easy to forget that bad with all the good he has produced), that is a great point. It's not easy playing in beantown, just look at Renteria that guy had a hell of a time playing in Boston and he is blowing up now that he is in ATL. Some people can adjust, some can't only time will tell on Willy Mo. But damn, atleast give the guy a chance. 5 AB's and he is Theo's worst trade? That is just crazy talk.
